My Bubble: Meet At One Or Leave At Eleven
Just had a tiff with hubby yesterday evening.
We're supposed to group up with our running friends tomorrow to buy running shoes, somewhere on the other side of town, Ampang. It's a one hour drive there but we'll be catching lunch together along the way, probably an hour for the sumptuous 'Ampang Yong Tau Foo'!
Sure I know, it's agreed that we should reach the sports shop at 1.00pm. So what time do we leave home? I asked and dear old patronising hubby insisted to 'meet at 1'.
Yeah yeah ... meet at 1 but what time do we want to start from home? I need to get ready before you and I can't read your mind duh!
After several ding-dongs, "We leave at 10.30 or 11, you deduce yourself la!" Now, need I blow my top again?
If I deduce myself;
1 hour drive + 1 hour lunch = 2 hours = depart 11, where did 10.30 come about? Where's the maths? Is it so difficult to say, 'we leave at 11'? By the way, there must be room for any unforseen delays, so what's so difficult to say, 'we leave at 10.30'?
Just giving room for a little debate, how would you have said? Meet at 1 or Leave at 11?

My Bubble: An Article On The Meaning Of Life
A long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.
The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love. One day when we look back, we will realize that we don't really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character .
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny .

Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible. Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area, he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, "Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."

Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of Work, Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence.
So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character .
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny .

My Bubble: A Blogging Award
When I first came to know of the Law of Attraction, I discovered that I have actually been practising it my whole adulthood ... in the right way but not for all the right things. I've managed to manifest quite a pretty bunch of the good life I've dreamt off since I'm the determined sort of person. But along the way, I've manifested some undesirable circumstances too considering that I can be a very insecure person (twice over) at times ... my worst is the 6th ghost of fear #3 ~ the fear of death. It still remains my one and only battle with fear. During these consuming moments, I'm so grateful for the many insights I've found from the blogosphere that helped me tremendously to regain a balance.
One of them, Of Living And Loving ... And Coping, had always remained my pillar of strength whenever my insecurity crept in. Her blog will never fail to uplift my spiritual confidence while the triumphs in her personal struggles had become the beacon for my fight against my worst fear. Yet, instead of giving her an award that I believe she so deserved, she has so generously given me a blogging award.
In a show of my gratitude and to emulate her magnanimous gesture, I shall forward this blogging award to fellow-bloggers who has inspired me and many others, though not necessarily in the same manner. They are Cheryl Tan, Cascia Talbert, Rebecca Trautner, Uncle Shingo-T, K13 and AlwaysWinner.

I am so grateful that she had thought of me though I am kinda ashamed that I had not done so for her much earlier.
Bing, thank you so much for this gift and the same goes back to you many folds!

Law Of Attraction: You Can Do It Too! ~ Part 4
“Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
Where are you going to? Do you know?
Do you get what you're hoping for?
When you look behind you there's no open door,
What are you hoping for? Do you know?”
These are the chorus lines from the theme of Mahogany, a 1975 Motown/Paramount film. A ballad performed by Diana Ross, the movie featured its protagonist as a poor African-American who became a successful Rome fashion designer, remembering the happiness she had in the past, as she faces the reality of a loveless future and her decisions that had brought her to that point in time.
Let’s stop and ponder on those lines again. Do we have our answers already or are we scratching our heads right now?
Lesson #4: Prioritize ~ Know Our Life’s Purpose
Finding our purpose in life is often one of the most difficult things to do. We trod along our life and lose ourselves in work, love, family and even in leisure. We are misled by a false belief that these pursuits are the reason for living, but only as long as we forget the shadow of death.
But what’s the difference between a person with a purpose in life and one who doesn’t? The one who has a purpose in their life can do many things, irrespective on a good day or a bad one. On a given good day, they can light up the room while on a bad one, they somehow find the energy to roll out of bed and turn things around to work for them. Which of the two do we want to be?
The purpose in life is to add value to our life that can in turn add value to others in the world. It is our expression of what makes us feel alive. It's like a road map of our inner being. When we reach the cross-road where our personal goals e.g. career and family meet with our purpose, we will be able to feel the sense of accomplishments with tremendous integrity. It’s something we do, where at the end of the day, we can say "I made a difference!".
We cannot begin to comprehend where we’re going without first discovering our purpose and potential in life. Everyone can choose their own purpose, so long as it makes us motivated, energised and enriched. Do you know what’s yours? Do you know what you really want to do in your life? Questions after questions, but it all starts and ends with us, we control our destiny, we are in charge although not every move, but we are definitely in charge of how we perceive and respond to the twists and turns of life.
A Tip: Set aside 20 minutes or half-an-hour or perhaps an hour to outline all the possibilities of your purpose in life. Whether it makes sense or not, or it feels ridiculous, the choice is certainly up to you. What's the harm of trying? It might probably take you several days to come out with it but consider the lifelong benefits of living with a purpose:
• Focus
• Growth
• Peace
• Satisfaction
• Happiness
• Self-esteem
• Spirituality
• Enjoyment

My Bubble: I Need A GIANT SAFETY PIN!
YES! I do need a GIANT SAFETY PIN.
Finally ... finally ... I finally discovered a rational behind it. It's because of hubby ... RAY!!!
You see, sharing a kingsize bed with Ray means sharing a kingsize comforter (blanket) with him too. Nope don't let your mind side-track anywhere ...
I've been having a problem getting out of bed in the mornings of late. This was never a problem before until quite recently. I'd been blaming it on my lack of enthusiasm to go to work but looks like the culprit is right under my nose and I've never even gave it a second thought.
Finally ... finally ... I finally discovered a rational behind it. It's because of hubby ... RAY!!!
You see, sharing a kingsize bed with Ray means sharing a kingsize comforter (blanket) with him too. Nope don't let your mind side-track anywhere ...
But Ray's such a bad sleeper. To think that this old man will outgrow it as he aged is beyond expectation. Worst still, he's totally oblivious of his nightly behavior! Whenever he toss-and-turn during the night, he tends to roll himself up inside the comforter like a 'sushi', snatching my side along. I'll be jerked awake and there goes my deep slumber. After a few 'kungfu' routines ... kick slap and pinch ... to get back my side of the comforter, it'll probably be another hour before I get to fall asleep again.
Imagine there's a repetition of this in one night ... SLEEP WITH EYES WIDE-OPENED!!!
Believe me, I really need a GIANT SAFETY PIN ... to pin the comforter on me ... at least my side of it!
Just Laughs: Oh My God!
Four Catholic men and a Catholic woman were having coffee.
The first Catholic man tells his friends,
"My son is a priest, when he walks into a room, everyone calls him 'Father'."
The second Catholic man chirps,
"My son is a Bishop. When he walks into a room people call him 'Your Grace'."
The third Catholic gent says,
"My son is a Cardinal. When he enters a room everyone says 'Your Eminence'."
The fourth Catholic man then says,
"My son is the Pope. When he walks into a room people call him 'Your Holiness'."
Since the lone Catholic woman was sipping her coffee in silence, the four men give her a subtle, "Well.....?"
She proudly replies,
"I have a daughter, slim, tall, 38D - 24" - 34". When she walks into a room, people say,

My Bubble: I Blew My Top!!!
I really blew my top yesterday. It's 9.30pm already, no one's concern whether I'm hungry or not ... no one's thinking of dinner, just because they are not hungry??? Hey, you guys know I always skipped lunch ... so I'm definitely very hungry by now ... you can actually say ferociously hungry!

As usual, Ray and Nick went for their Monday badminton game at the clubhouse and initially they would be back for dinner no later than 9.00 pm. The last few games, they were late and by the time dinner's over, it's already past 10.00pm. This is not DINNER ... it is called SUPPER!!!
I had just finished a 6km run at the lake and of all days, yesterday I had volunteered to do some groceries shopping without them. I was rushing so that I could be done by 9.30pm and meet them for dinner. Not wanting to drive in and out of the house, I waited for them for nearly 15 minutes at our regular coffeeshop. Calls unanswered ... text messages unresponded, I left fuming.
Everyone cooked their own meal after that ... let that be a lesson!

Just Laughs: Getting A Second Opinion
Husband (a doctor) and his wife are having a fight at the breakfast table.
Husband gets up in a rage and says, "And you are no good in bed either," and storms out of the house.
After some time he realizes he was nasty and decides to make amends and rings her up. She comes to the phone after many rings, and the irritated husband says, "What took you so long to answer to the phone?" She says, "I was in bed."
"In bed this early, doing what?"
"Getting a second opinion!"

My Bubble: What Holds Ahead In The Year Of The TIGER ...
The Chinese New Year is just round the corner ... less than a month's time on 14 February 2010. This coming year will be the year of the Metal TIGER. The TIGER represents the third year in the 12 year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. As usual, everyone is checking out the prognosis of what the Metal TIGER will bring for 2010.
The TIGER is one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet, and is feared and revered in equal measure. It is featured in many Asian cultures as a manifestation of courage, power, passion and royalty.
The general consensus by astrologers, fengshui masters and geomancers predicts that the TIGER year will be a tumultuous one. Drama, intensity, change and travel will be the keywords for 2010. The year of the TIGER will not be a dull 12 months for anyone. It will bring far reaching changes for everyone. Therefore, 2010 is very likely to be a volatile one both on the world scene, as well as on a personal level. However, the TIGER's influence will offer us courage, while inviting bold actions and risk taking. The Metal element will provide steely resolve, fortitude and determination to accomplish goals.
So for all the Chinese zodiac, this year is one to be active, seizing opportunities and making the most of our personal and very individual talents. Everything happens quickly and dramatically in a TIGER year ... blink and you could miss an important chance of a lifetime!
If you wish to find out what the year of the Metal TIGER holds for your respective zodiac, click on this link and check it out. Do not believe the predictions if you do not want to but if you do, do not take them too seriously but use it minimally to enlighten your path and direction that you have decided for the coming year.

I'm born in the year of the Rabbit. For the year of the TIGER, the Rabbits' focus would be on our career and job prospects, with unexpected promotions and recognition in the books. Travel is also highlighted, with short breaks and spontaneous, fun trips. Healthwise, we could find the speed of the TIGER year exhausting and it’s important that we balance work with rest and relaxation. Friendships will play a big role during 2010.

My Bubble: Can I Admonish Myself?
My resolution no. 9: Attend mass every weekend.
Now, how hard is it to observe this resolution if we've been diligently attending Sunday mass in the past. That was till September last year though, we've even missed Christmas midnight mass. Tsk tsk tsk ... just because wewent on a holiday to Bali.
It's now the 4th Sunday of the 1st month of 2010 and I've yet to attend any mass ... not any one of us. So what excuse do we have now? There's no holiday, no weekend work or any running races whatever. What's the excuse?! This is just plain laziness!!!
Does it help to admonish myself? Will I allow myself (and Ray, and Nick) to repeat the same weakness again next weekend? We shall see about that!

Law Of Attraction: You Can Do It Too! ~ Part 3
Now that we have an understanding of the importance of accepting responsibility for whatever that is going on in our life and the changes we are experiencing, it is equally important to understand how our emotions have played a role.
Emotions are the reflections of our thoughts. Simply realising that we have a choice over the quality of our thoughts, we too have a choice over the quality of our emotions. When we choose positive thoughts, our emotions will reflect equally.
We know that the basic fundamental of the Law of Attraction is “like attracts like”. Therefore, when we accept responsibility for our thoughts and emotions, we restore our self-acceptance and instil an attitude of gratefulness. These thoughts of gratitude will resonate positive energies and attract more good things into our life.
Lesson #3: Gratitude ~ Appreciating Everything We’ve Created
We must then learn to recognize and express gratitude for everything we’ve created in our life. Gratitude has to be consciously cultivated. We need to train our minds to see the blessings instead of disappointments, achievements instead of failures. Simple things we created in our life becomes miracles we treasure when we start to recognised them in the positive light. So, stop taking things for granted.
Gratitude is a simple way of applying the Law of Attraction in our life. Grateful people are happier, less depressed, less stressed and more satisfied with their lives and relationships. With gratitude, we gain more control over our environment and easily find positive ways of coping with difficulties.
Gratitude is a feel good component that contributes a large part to the successful practice of the Law of Attraction. Gratitude need not be shown in any big ways. It could just be a silent thanks to Almighty for a brand new day, or a wave of appreciation to that person who just let us in in-front of them during heavy traffic, or a gentle pat on the head for that child who just greeted us so cheerfully, or a hug for our pet dog excitedly welcoming us home.
Just having that feel good feeling of gratitude is enough to bring a smile to our face and as they say, “Smile and the whole world smiles with you”.
A Tip: Choose to focus on thoughts of gratitude and you will train your mind and emotions to respond with gratitude. The more you focus on this thought, you will draw more things to be grateful for.

Just Laughs: Piano Lessons
My parents recently retired. Mom always wanted to learn to play the piano, so dad bought her a piano for her birthday. A few weeks later, I asked how she was doing with it. "Oh, we returned the piano." said My Dad, "I persuaded her to switch to a clarinet instead."
"How come?" I asked. "Because," he answered, "with a clarinet, she can't sing."

My Bubble: From A Dream To Reality ...
I've not had any funny dreams for many many months now. But this past 2 weeks, I've had 2. These dreams ... they are bad for me! I'm sure it must be some inner fear that's creating negative vibes in me to dream this way since they revolved around the same theme ... DESPERATELY SEEKING HUBBY!
Dream #1: I dreamt that my dear hubby, Ray left me for another and I was desperately trying to get him back.
Dream #2: I dreamt of Ray & me travelling in Pria, Thailand ... God knows where is this place, Pria in Thailand, even if it actually exist. While we were travelling in one of their 'Tut Tut Cars', I got separated from Ray and was desperately trying to find him.
A past experience had taught me that I need to sort out whatever this inner fear that's troubling me soon. To leave it unattended is like allowing a time-bomb to tick within me, waiting for the right time to explode ... KA-BOOM!!! Without diffusing it, it's definitely going to over-ride my positive thoughts. Repetitive thinking and feelings of such insecurity will eventually manifest into my life as each thought and feeling builds a unique vibration that goes out into the Universe. "Like attracts like", the full sphere of my dreams will become as I feared!
These are my dreams, the latest being yesterday night:-

Is it possible that Ray may have found someone else? Or is it me ... am I the one leaving instead? Maybe there's no 3rd party at all but due to some other reasons ... like our health? Or ...
I must be honest with MYSELF, look FEAR in the eye and continue to FOCUS on the joys in my life in order to keep up my positive vibrations. Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive over nothing.
AWAY PESKY THOUGHTS!!!

My Bubble: Bloggers Unite For Haiti

Official estimates from the region said that approximately 3 million people have been affected by this disaster and that somewhere between 45,000 to 50,000 people are feared to have died as a result of the earthquake.
The most important thing everyone can do is donate to organizations providing aid to the citizens of Haiti. As bloggers, we can also use our sites to motivate others to give. It takes just a few minutes to add a donation widget to your blog or write a post informing your readers about how to give.
Doctors Without Borders is one of the organizations in the best position to provide critical medical care to those affected by this disaster. You can easily add one of their donation widgets to your blog which can be found at http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/donate/haiti-share.cfm.

My Bubble: Where Is Slovenia?
I've been following Nino's blog for like some 5 or 6 months now. MKL or My Kafkaesque Life is an interest blog on many random issues, and the blogger himself is a very likeable, bold but down-to-earth kind of guy whom I've conveniently adopted as my Lil'Bro from Europe ... from Slovenia to be exact. Where is Slovenia? No no no ... now don't confuse yourself, if you really don't know where, just check out his post on Friday. You'll definitely have a much clerarer picture.
So, what actually draws me to Nino? You see ... he is one of those exceptional 'kwai lohs' who appreciates and respect things Asian and is also comfortable exploring and living within our Asian culture. I believe it should be apt to call him 'Mr. Buddy Asia' ... don't take this in the negative light please! It's a compliment ... considering that I'm working with a a few 'professional kwai lohs' in my office who find it hard to accept our way of life and carry a perception that Asians are all half-witted when in reality they are the ones living inside a box. Oops! Digressed alittle.
Back to my original point of blog. I was reading about Nino's budding love with a Taiwanese girl over the internet and his forthcoming trip there, probably living and working there as well while he gets to know her better. Will she turn out to be 'THE ONE' for him? From Slovenia to Taiwan ... that's from one corner of the world to the other ... that's far!
Remember 'The Symposium' from the ancient Greek philosopher, Plato who theorised that everyone has a soul-mate somewhere in this world. That means your soul-mate need not necessarily exist in your home-turf, right? So, how far are you willing to search the world to find 'THE ONE', who will share every living days of your life with you, for better or for worse ... until death do you part? Lucky me, I found mine right here on my own turf.
The Universe works in funny ways, according to its own rules and time. The Law of Attraction says, if you seek and believe, the Universe will deliver to you 'THE ONE' in good time, at the right place and at the right time. I'm sure Nino is one who practises the Law of Attraction, just possibly he's not aware of it. All the best to you, Nino! I hope you'll find what you're seeking for in Taiwan.
