My Bubble: A Car Is A Car ...

I just cannot understand Nick’s obsession with anything that’s on 4 wheels. I might have one or two dream cars in mind but end of the day, a car is a car … a mode to take you from one place to another, that’s all.

Sometimes he just bores me to death when he goes on and on about this car and that. Just the other day when I stepped away for a pee, he had so casually hogged my browser with so many pages of his interest.

You guessed it! A website on cars and with all my years of driving, I haven’t even heard of a buick lacrosse or a gmc terrain or a chevy equinox. These are all American cars and they are definitely going to be expensive bringing them in to our country. I can only blame this influence on my nephew, Nian who is a die-hard American car enthusiast. Nian had been studying in the US when he got interested in all cars American.

Anyway, with the pages still logged on, the word Lexus GX caught my eye. Just before my retirement, my ex-boss was using a Lexus ES300 and even Oprah had featured one on her show some time ago. So I took a peek into the pages to check out the cars.

Well now, I’ve learnt a thing or two. Lexus GX is actually a 4WD and it kinda looked chunky although the interior looks classy and unclustered. The gmc terrain and chevy equinox are SUVs competing with the Toyota RAV4 and Ford Escape. But the buick lacrosse is a 4-door midsize luxury sedan which is in the same class as the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C-Class.

Wow! Just 10 minutes of browsing the website Nick forgot to close, I’ve added 4 more types of cars to my minimal knowledge. This is the beauty of internet right?

My Bubble: A Week's Interruption!

Hey! Is there any comparison at all between standing for 7 hours shooting marathoners in action as to being a runner finishing a full marathon itself? Which would have been more agonizing?

The marathon of the year, Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur International Marathon is over since Sunday and yet as at today, I've yet to pound the pavement. Making matters worst, I've been stranded at home again and again (Nick's taken the car to college) ... so it's now a whole week of unburned calories! ARGHHH!!! I feel so heavy!

Tonight is the weekly nite-run again and I need a 'bulldozer' to push me around the lake!  The weather's very cloudy right this moment and bet you, if it rains later this evening ... there goes another nite-run!

Between you and me ... I'm already jumping with joy inside.  (I don't know about you but I'm shaking my head in disgust!)

My Bubble: Lost To Nick Again!

I guess I need to have more confidence with Nick. I cannot be treating him like a young school kid any longer. He seemed to have become more and more serious and independent in improving his studies. I am so glad.

Eversince our last debate on online tutoring, he has shown me again how he had sought the appropriate channel to solve his lack of understanding with Statistics and Probability concepts. He was facing difficulties solving statistics problems for his college assignments and found a statistics tutor, TutorVista to solve most of his statistics questions.

TutorVista is one of the leading online tutoring company in the world, providing tutoring packages for K-12, back to school and college students. Just like Nick, students can find free statistics help on TutorVista which covers unlimited online statistics tutoring, practice problems, text-based tutoring and homework help. The advantages of this tutoring website is that it is available 24-hours a day, seven days’ week . This means you get help any time and whenever you need it. On top of that, TutorVista also offer affordable monthly tutoring packages for all other subjects.

Before I’d concur with Nick on the effectiveness of the tutoring site, I’ve personally checked out the free demo for first time users. Well, looks like I’ve lose out to Nick again. Those statistics help and statistics answers from TutorVista has certainly made some impact on his exam results. There’s definitely no reason for me to disagree!

Just Laughs: My Greatest Sin

Three nuns on a train had been getting to know one another and decided to tell each other what their greatest sins were. The first nun says, "My greatest sin is sex. Every year I go out for a week and work as a prostitute. Of course, I put all the money I earn into the poor box."

The second nun says, "My greatest sin is drinking. Every year I take the money from the poor box and go out drinking for a solid week." The third just sits there quietly.

So the first nun says to her, "Come on, we've told you our worst sins. Now you have to tell us yours."

The third nun says, "My greatest sin is that I gossip, and I can't wait to get off this train."

Law Of Attraction: Using It In Your Professional Life

Do you feel as if you are being stifled in your career or professional life? Do you worry that you are stuck in your current job, and have little to no chance of moving forward in your chosen career path? Living in a sense of frustration will only keep you stuck where you are. You need to change your outlook in order to change and advance your professional life. People have been using the law of attraction for years in order to help them in their personal and professional lives.

For those of you who are uninformed as to just what the law of attraction is, here is a quick definition: The law of attraction is the basic principle that what people receive in life will be determined based upon the kind of energy they put out into the world. As in, if you go to work every day with a negative and despondent attitude, the progress of your career will reflect that negativity by remaining at a standstill. To help you improve your professional life with the law of attraction, here are some tips to help you along the way.

-Improve Your Attitude About the People Who Work With You. Find something positive to think about every individual with whom you come into contact. Do this for yourself, not for them. For individuals who are difficult, be creative and find just one positive attribute to focus on.

-Improve Your Workspace. Is your cubicle or office a boring, ugly place? No wonder you do not feel inspired at work if there is nothing inspiring about your workplace! Break out of the mold and turn your workspace into an area that is worthy of your talent and future success. Bring in some uplifting pictures from home, and invest in a small desktop compact disc player so that you can play uplifting music quietly while you work. If you improve your workspace, your mood and performance will soon follow.

-Decorate With Inspiration. To really improve your performance at work, decorate your workspace with inspiring photographs that represent what you want out of your career. Do you want to make more money so that you can buy that boat that you have been dreaming of since you were ten years old? Then put up a picture of that very same boat! Use this idea on anything that inspires you, be it a boat, a car, a house or a completely different career!

The law of attraction can help anyone to improve his or her professional performance. If you help yourself by using it correctly, you will have a great start in creating the career of your dreams.

My Bubble: Dog Vs Durian

The King of Fruits ... Durians ... hmmm yum yum. Looks like the season's back. We managed to satisfy our cravings yesterday and hey, there's still some left in the fridge!

Can a dog tell the difference between an apple and a durian?  To our surprise, Bowie 'The Arrogant Dog' loves durians too!  The King of Fruits won him over!  Too bad, the durians were too finger-licking good I couldn't snap any photos of him devouring the King of Fruits alongside us.

Just Laughs: How Much To Donate?

I was stuck in a traffic jam on the LDP last week. Nothing moved for half
an hour when suddenly a man knocks on my window. So I rolled down my
window and asked, "What's going on?"

"Terrorists down the road have kidnapped a few UMNO politicians. They're asking for a RM10 million ransom or they're going to douse them with petrol and set them on fire. We are going from car to car, taking up a collection."

I innocently asked, "How much is everyone giving on average?"
The man replied, "Most people are giving about a gallon!"

My Bubble: I Miss Home!!!

A home is not a home until you are able to relax and feel a sense of belonging in it.

Imagine sometimes when you visit someone's home. As a guest, you feel so out of place? A rented home is just the same. It's so difficult to feel right at home. I feel like a guest in someone else's home.

I miss home! I really really miss my home, my home sweet home for the past 10 years. It's just less than a 5-minutes' drive away ... silly huh???

My Bubble: Home Alone!

I'm home alone! 'Lo Koong' @ hubby had to worked tonight (doing some system testing or upgrading whatnot) and won't be back till 6 in the morning. Nick's out 'yam cha' with his friends and as at now, he's still not back.

I'm left all alone at home with Bowie. Been switching the Astro channels round and round but unfortunately, there weren't any good shows for a Saturday night. Luckily, there was MJ's 30th Anniversary Celebration on 8TV. Been tossing and turning in bed for the last 2 hours but I just couldn't get any shut-eye. Tried counting sheeps but ARGHHH!!!

So, here I am ... simply making up a blog post, waiting for the clock to tick by. I know hubby and son is wide awake out there ... anyone else in my shoes right now???

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

With retirement, I'd been looking forward to a laid-back and unhastened way of life.  I never knew that taking it easy with life can be a tough job.  I've to constantly remind myself to remain calm, breathe easy and absorb positively everything that's knocked at my doorstep.

After weeks of doing too much too fast due to my relocation, this week I'm just simply grateful to be able to find peace and quiet as well as a slowered pace to my daily grind. I'm glad to be almost back on track from wherever I've been let-off ... the housekeeping, the running, the blogging, the poetry writing et cetera et cetera ...

Law Of Attraction: How To Become Debt-Free ...

Using the Law of Attraction to become debt free may well be your first step to a better financial future!

Statistics have shown that many people do not know how many credit cards they have in their wallets and last year more than 1.5 million Americans have filed for personal bankruptcy. This has been a considerable increase in bankruptcy cases from the year before.

Many people experiencing a heavy financial burden. If this has been your experience you can get help when using the Law of Attraction to get out of debt once and for all.

The Law of Attraction is a cosmic law that work every time and that works exact. There are no exceptions. The knowledge of the Law of Attraction can now help you to turn your financial situation around . You can become debt free forever! But do not expect things to happen just overnight. Everything is a process. It took some time to get you were you are right at this minute when it comes to your financial situation. You did not accumulate this debt overnight. So do not expect it to go away overnight. With determination and consistency you can however make some big changes when it comes to your finances.

Many people have already used this ancient knowledge since the Secret DVD was first aired. Even Oprah and Larry King Live have had talk shows on the same subject. So more and more people are familiar with this law and how it works. There are many books written on it also. You can even right there in the comfort of your own home in just a few minutes learn a great deal abut the Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction is also called the Law of Love. Love is the highest vibration in this universe that is why love is so important. The way you are vibrating has everything to do with the things that you are attracting into your life. You may not believe this but it is true! You may have been unconsciously attracting the debts into your life experience.

So what can you do to make this a total turn around when using the Law of Attraction?

Here are just 3 simple steps that will get you started to a debt free future:

1. Sit down and make a list of all your debts. Write down you the name of the credit card company, retail store, and any other credit you owe. Next to the name write down the amount that you owe and then make room for the amount of interest that you are paying at this time. Then take out another piece of paper that is blank. Tape the blank piece of paper and write as a headline credits successfully paid off and tape it on the left hand side of your computer the list with all your credits, owed amounts and interests on the right hand side of your computer. Now you can see with one look at everything you owe. As you pay off the smallest owed credit first write this down on the blank sheet of paper on your left side of the computer and check it on the list on the right side of your computer. Make a new list every three month or every quarter of the year. Compare it with the first list and see for yourself how every month gets you closer to your goal of being debt free. You can see how the amounts owed and the interest that you are paying every month getting smaller. Every time you are able to write another credit off write it on the sheet on the left side. This helps you visually to keep up with your finances.

2. Along with this you want to get started in reprogramming your mind to make better choices when it comes to financial matters. You can do this by learning through books how rich people think. When you want to spend money or buy something think before you go ahead with the purchase. Ask yourself how often would you use this item and do you really need this item. This may help prevent you from impulse buying. When using the Law of Attraction you will learn more about yourself and how you can change thought patterns that are not helpful when it comes to money

Meditation helps you to work along with your subconscious mind to become a person that is debt free and takes full control over financial matters.

There is a heap of information available on meditation and how it works best for you.

3. Affirmations are also important when using the Law of Attraction to become debt

free. Do not focus on how much you owe but think about how it feels to be a person without debts. This may be difficult to imagine for you but you need to try it. Remember that the Law of Attraction only responds to your feelings and emotions, so you want your feelings and emotions to match with what you want!

Feel debt free and financial independent even if the current financial situation is very different! You already have taken care of your list now you can set up a reasonable payment plan and stick to it. Do not sit down and worry constantly about it but look into the future at a time when your debts are not a reality anymore. Try to avoid t making the same mistakes. Learn from your current situation. Continue to use the power of the Law of Attraction and get the mind of a money magnet. Keep focused on that and you will succeed!

Learn more about the Law of Attraction and make it work for you!

My Bubble: Ever Heard Of A 'Chicken-Dog'?

What's a dog for? As a guard-dog, a play-mate, a companion or just a plain 'good for nothing' dog?

Bowie, my lost and found dog, seems to be a pure-breed shih-tzu and so far, he does exhibits all the common characteristics of his breed. Bowie is an alert, lively little dog. Alittle playful and spunky which makes him a great play-mate. However, he sleeps alot (like 90% of his day), very greedy and makes friends too easily which makes him a lousy watch-dog. Shih-tzus are known to be courageous and also for their typically stubborn aloof streak but stubbon he may be, Bowie's far from courageous ... he's so easily frightened by the slightest thunder or loud noises. Whenever no one's home during a thunder storm, he'll run helter-skelter ... more like 'berserk' ... ending up at odd places and creating a big mess for me to clear.

Shih-tzu is supposed to mean 'Lion Dog' but I think a better alias for Bowie would be 'Chicken Dog'.

Funnily, despite his cowardly traits, Bowie can also be a nasty vengeful little doggie. Shih-tzus are known to be able to 'selectively choose to forget their training' whenever they are not in favour of our actions like when we leave him alone at home. Without fail, he will pee and poo at places he's not supposed to ... in a way to let us know he's punishing us for leaving him behind. Anyway, I'll soon show him who's the master (mistress).

Despite all his antics, Bowie does add some color of activities to an otherwise quite home. We've gotten used to him and loving him more and more.

My Bubble: A Sign Of Old-Age!

I had planned to run every Monday and Tuesday morning, followed by Thursday and Friday morning. This shall remain my daily regime to keep my diabetes and general health in check.

Last week, I ran a total of 12.42km. On Monday, I completed 7.60km but 2 days' later, my body still aches like MAD!!! There goes my plan again.

Nowadays it takes longer to recover ... is this a sign of old-age?

All my joints are so stiff, it could even jammed at times. Sometimes, I could even hear my bones creaked whenever I move about. Just yesterday, after I had sat down for an hour to groom Bowie, I just couldn't get up immediately. I had to hunch like Quasimodo, the hunchback of Notre Dame and it took me a full 2 minutes to slowly straighten up.

Tell me ... is this not a sign of old-age?

Tonite's Kota Kemuning Pacers' weekly nite-run. Since I've not fulfilled my regime for the past 2 days, hopefully I'll be up to running tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Just Laughs: Rest Assured

A tourist goes to Africa and asks his tourist guide while walking in the jungle, "Are we safe here? Aren't there cannibals around here?"

And the tourist guide says, "Yes. You can be sure there are no cannibals in Africa."

And the tourist says, "But there may be still some cannibals."

And the tourist guide says, "No, rest assured. We ate the last one last Monday."

My Bubble: Redeeming Normalcy ...

Though the past 2-3 months were an excitable period, at the same time stressful and sometimes frustrating, my planned daily routines had been greatly upsetted. Some were just thrown out the window. Even my blogging has suffered!

Today I noticed the bits and pieces of normalcy becoming more and more visible.

First of all, I should thank Cheryl for running with me earlier this evening, allowing me to finish a 7.6km run ... a distance that seemed so impossible a week ago. A little more motivated now, I hope to increase the distance by end of the month ... looks like I can still hang-on to my resolution of achieving a 21km run this year (oh don't be mistaken, I am definitely NOT talking about races).

My Bubble: All Gone!

The last time I went for a run was early April. With all the excuses thrown in for not running ... heel pain, backache, house-moving and blah blah blah ... it's been a 2-month hiatus! Time flies!

Feeling really really guilty (actually more so because of increased body weight), I decided to start running again since Monday. What a shame! I was panting my head off and struggling to complete only 4km. It took me 38 minutes and Tuesday, I was even slower at 40 mins.  Today, I ran again around the same pace.  Where on earth has all my stamina gone to?

I just can't believe it ... my endurance is all GONE! Now I'll have to pick up the pieces again ... ARGHHH!!!
