Law Of Attraction: The Dynamics Of Change & Fear
May 2, 2007 presentation by Carly Fiorina for the Stanford Technology Ventures Program Educators Corner in the School of Engineering at Stanford University.
Carly Fiorina, former CEO of HP (1999-2005) talks about the dynamics of change and fear in this lecture to Stanford University students offered in May, 2007. She notes that entrepreneurship is about risk-taking, and this is always associated with tackling innovation. Fiorina concludes that asserting change involves gathering enough energy and force to overcome the power of the status quo.

My Bubble: A Fear Factor ...
Few days' ago, I was driving around town in my black Proton Saga. The town seemed so unfamiliar, yet I knew instinctively which direction I should head. But where am I going! At that moment, I had no idea at all, much less why I was in such an unfamiliar surrounding in the first place.
Then unknowingly, I drove up to this rundown bus terminal. The funny thing is all the buses were heavily tinted and guess what?! All the buses were black!!! Then without warning, everything turned monochrome and I'm sitting in my car parked right behind one of the buses. Huh? What's going on? Suddenly ... OMG! the bus is reversing ... the bus' reversing!!! I pressed hard on the horn but it's not working ... the bus' reversing into me!!! Eeeeeeeee ...
I've been wanting to practise my photography for the past few weeks now but just haven't found the time. Yesterday, I took my camera and God knows where I found this motorbike, I went about this seaside village lined with waving coconut trees hoping to find something interesting to capture with my camera. Out of nowhere, there he was ... an ex-colleague who invited me over to a Malay wedding. Ahhh ... I was so excited! There is definitely going to be alot of interesting shots for practise. With a blink of the eyes, the event was over. So I packed my things to leave but guess what?! My motorbike has turned into a black Proton Iswara and a little kampung girl was pointing out to me that I'm parked in a 'No Parking' spot. Hahaha!!! "No problem little girl, thanks for the warning but I'm leaving now." Oh oh! ... as I was about to drive off, I realised I've forgotten my camera bag ... arghhh!!!
I rush to get back to the wedding venue but I just couldn't find the place and ended underneath a bypass. I was standing next to a stream with a group of youngsters and someone had just fished out a camera. I thought it was mine but damn ... it wasn't!
It was surreal in both instances but I was actually dreaming. I awoke each time with a little trepidation. What a relief when the disorientation wore off.
So ... what was the message being delivered in both dreams?

Just Laughs: JESUS Is Watching You ...
A burglar breaks into a house. He sees a CD player that he wants so he takes it. Then he hears a voice "JESUS is watching you". He looks around with his flashlight wandering, "What The HELL Was That?".
He spots some ca$h on a table and takes it ... once again he hears a voice "JESUS is watching you". He then hides in a corner trying to find where the voice came from. He spots a birdcage with a parrot in it! He goes over and asks "Was that your voice?". It said "YES". He then says, "What's your name?". It says "MOSES". The burglar blurted, "What kind of person names his bird Moses??" The parrot replies, "THE SAME PERSON THAT NAMES HIS ROTWEILER, JESUS!".

Another week's just concluded and it's the time again for family get-together, outings and recoveries. This past week has been testy but I am grateful for the faith and determination that has kept me strong in the face of negative forces that's been working against me.
I am also thankful for the successful completion of my assignments and the timely rewards that made the motivation and inspirations all the more easier.

Law Of Attraction: It's Never Too Late To Start!
The Law of Attraction is for everyone … irrespective you’re young or old. It is applicable to every area of your daily life. Remember the basic principle of this law of the Universe is “like attracts like” and it all begins with a thought or an idea. The Universe holds unlimited resources to readily respond to your thoughts. Everyone has an equal chance to these resources but it’s going to be hard work, of course!
It may be hard work but only you can decide on its success. You will need to first understand that the Law of Attraction is not only about wishful thinking but it also require your determined efforts to change your belief system … to believe that you have direct control over your own life, that you have the power to make your dreams a possibility.
It is not too late to make some kind of change now to restore that belief in yourself. So, do you want to jump right in and let the Law of Attraction work for you?
Before you go full steam ahead to only lose your momentum in the quickest way, you’ll need to spend some quiet time with yourself. Take as much time you may need and at the oddest places as long as it gives you a peace of mind to think things through.
Ask yourself the following questions and be honest with the answers:-
1. What am I looking for in my life?
2. What are the actions I have taken so far?
3. Am I moving towards what I want right now or am I going to remain where I am?
4. Do I believe in myself, in my ability?
5. What’s my next course of action?
However are your answers, it’s never too late to start taking charge of your life. You can either remain status quo or take inspired actions to move yourself closer towards what you are looking for in your life. Plan your actions, the changes you need to adopt and believe you can make things happen.

My Bubble: I'm So Old-School!!!
Ee Lian and Heng Kiat were my former colleagues during the time when I was freelancing in a small company in Seremban. Back then they hardly knew each other, both being fresh out of school and had just joined the workforce. 12 years down the road and come December 12 … it’s their wedding day! I was so surprised by the news when I bumped into them over the weekend at Subang Parade while they were window-shopping at a goldsmith shop.
Immediately I thought they were still hunting for their wedding band but I was embarrassingly wrong! Since they had recently legalised their marriage at the Registrar of Marriages, they were already proudly wearing their titanium rings!
Titaniam rings? Hey, why not gold? ‘Tis definitely something new to me … I’m so old-school … duh!!!
According to Ee Lian, they didn’t want the classic gold bands and opted for titanium jewelry instead which looked modern and a lot more elegant. Moreover, titanium is known to be extremely strong and durable. These days, titanium jewelry are very fashionable and fast gaining popularity.
They both wore identical gold-inlayed black titanium rings while Ee Lian kept her engagement ring on too. Heng Kiat had gotten her a custom-made tungsten ring with cubic zirconia stones when he proposed to her on Valentine’s Day last year. Wow!! How romantic!
It's 2010 this year and gold wedding bands are considered old-fashioned. So assuming when my son, Nick gets married in 12 years’ time … are titanium or tungsten rings going to be things of the past too by then!

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...
Another week coming to an end. It's time again to reflect on the goings-on of the week passed and offer our thankfulness for all the bounties that we have received. Nothing is ever too small to be given its due recognition.
I am ever grateful just being able to enjoy LIFE's circle game ... being remembered in yesterdays and enjoying the glory of today while I look forward to the untold possibilities of tomorrows. Time waits for no one ... so seize each day and make the smallest of our dreams a reality!
Let's Be Thankful!

Law Of Attraction: Money, Love, Cars - Can You Really Attract Them Into Your Life?
Many writers claim that we can create our own reality using the law of attraction. Money, relationships, jobs - in fact anything you desire - can be brought into your life using simple techniques.
But if it's so easy, why are so many people unable to make the law of attraction work? And if it really is as easy as a lot of people claim, why isn't everyone using it and creating the life they want? You've read the books, you've watched the movies, you've done the exercises. So why has nothing changed?
It is true that the vibrations you put out into the world will attract people, things and circumstances which resonate with your own vibrations.
But the key which is often overlooked in teachings which advocate the law of attraction, is that we create at four different levels and only when all four are working in harmony can we attract what we really want.
What are the four levels?
• The conscious level
• The subconscious level
• The unconscious level
• The soul level
The conscious level is obvious - you want a new car, you think about it, perhaps you save for it or someone gives you their old car. But somehow, a car shows up in your life.
The subconscious level is the level at which you are aware of certain fears and insecurities but are unwilling to look at them. It's a bit like having a closet full of junk and you are pushing on the door to keep it shut. You know the fear is there, but you've put the lid on it.
The flat out unconscious level is more deeply buried and it's the place where you keep the fears you have blocked out completely, such as forgotten childhood traumas.
The soul level is the level at which your soul creates the circumstances it wants to experience.
You can probably see quite clearly why the law of attraction may not be working in your own life now. But how can you change that? How can you get all four levels of creation to work in harmony?
If you want to create more consciously, you need to move things up to the conscious level. This means opening the closet, looking at the fears and asking yourself why you are afraid. Simply asking the question why and when you have an answer asking why again until you get to the root of the fear will bring it to your conscious awareness.
Creating what you want at the soul level comes about when you allow yourself to experience insight from your soul. You do this by getting the past and the future out of the way, focusing on the moment and receiving the aha from your soul. It comes through your mind, but you can't get there by thinking.
Learn how you can create your own reality. Law of attraction, money and relationships are only the tip of the iceberg.

My Bubble: I've Got Trigger Finger!
When I was much much much younger ... during my primary days, I loved watching those classic TV westerns like Bonanza, Rawhide, High Chapparal, Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel and all the likes. These series usually feature cowboys, bounty hunters, lawmen, outlaws or gunslingers who wear Stetson hats, bandannas, gun belts and spurs, twirling their revolvers and rifles and showcasing their fast-draws to survive spur-of-the-moment gunfights in the wild west.
Compulsive trigger-happy ... they'll just pull the trigger ... click and it's BANG BANG BANG!!!
Unfortunately, trigger-happy I'm definitely not ... but the trigger is still on me coz I've got Trigger Finger!
According to my doc who's a hands and microsurgeon specialist, this is a medical condition that can happen to anyone at any age ... too much computer work or too much playstation/psp games. However, it is more common in women above 45 years due to the onset of hormonal imbalances and slacking blood circulation.
What's a trigger finger? It's a problem that causes pain and snapping of the tendons in the fingers. This is due to the inflammation of the tendons of the fingers. The inflammation causes the tendons to swell and restrict the constriction of the tendon during flexes within the sheath in which these tendons are protected. When this happens, the affected finger will remain flexed even at a relaxed state and when forced is gathered, the trigger finger will suddenly extend, like pulling a trigger! If this condition is left unresolved, the finger may ultimately remain jammed in the long run.
The solution = a steroid injection which is not guaranteed (may recur) or a day surgery for more permanent recovery. I've opted for the steroid injection as an initial solution whereby the effectiveness will only be known after 6 months.
Right now I'm experiencing numbness in my palm and I'm to expect some build-up of pain too in the next few days. My trigger finger is only expected to start disappearing beginning about 2 weeks' time. I'm really hoping for the best and that this steroid injection will be a permanent solution.

My Bubble: The Scales Fell From My Eyes!!!
I may be abit harsh to use this idiom but nothing can describe it more, now that I've finally seen the truth! A revelation that's all so disappointing! You thought you know the person well and gave all trust and the highest confidence ... but in the end, it's all sizzle and no steak!
I'm disappointed ... and really pissed with him! If he actually reads this ... SO BE IT!!!
I had only been involved because of our long-time friendship since our younger days and due to his persistent requests for help. He had bidded successfully for this small online project and was blatant that he will be able to handle his part of the assignment. He needed me to do all the writing stuffs while he concentrated on the programming aspects. We would then split the assignment fee 50:50. Alas, nothing materialised!
And to think that I've given him ample space to run around ... beating round the bush, spinning his excuse after excuse, his deliberate attempts at ego-boosting sarcasm and his immature quips. Well, he better have more than a thousand apologies ready for me after all the efforts I've put in!
Never, never ever again ... next time I'll just paddle my own canoe!!

Just Laughs: A Really Bad Day
There was this guy at a bar, just looking at his drink. He stays like that for half of an hour.
Then, this big trouble-making truck driver steps next to him, takes the drink from the guy, and just drinks it all down. The poor man starts crying. The truck driver says, "Come on man, I was just joking. Here, I'll buy you another drink. I just can't stand to see a man cry."
"No, it's not that. This day is the worst of my life. First, I fall asleep, and I go late to my office. My boss, outrageous, fires me. When I leave the building, to my car, I found out it was stolen. The police said that they can do nothing. I get a cab to return home, and when I leave it, I remember I left my wallet and credit cards there. The cab driver just drives away."
"I go home, and when I get there, I find my wife in bed with the gardener. I leave home, and come to this bar. And just when I was thinking about putting an end to my life, you show up and drink my poison."

Law Of Attraction: It's Never Too Late To Become Who You Were Destined to Be
Remember when you were in elementary school, and your teacher asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Most of the girls answered, "School teacher, nurse, mom, ballerina, princess."
Typically, boys replied, "Baseball player, fisherman, fireman, policeman, garbage man."
When it was my turn to share, I proudly announced, "Ventriloquist." My classmates exploded with laughter. My cheeks turned flaming red with embarrassment and I fought back the tears that were welling up inside of me.
And then my teacher asked, "What else might you want to be?"
Did you grow up to become who you wanted to be? We all hit a certain age when we are either feeling fulfilled and happy with our occupation, and lifestyle, or not. Even if we are successful in the eyes of the world, if we are not pursuing our passion in some capacity, we come to a place where we feel like something is missing in our life. If what we are doing doesn't stimulate us, we become bored or start to get restless.
Do you love your work? Is there something you long to do that you aren't doing? It might not involve changing your profession. Perhaps you have been itching to take up a hobby, learn a new skill, or start your own small business. George Eliot says, "It's never too late to be who you might have been." Ask yourself these "Never too Late Questions."
What do I love to do that I am not doing?
Who do I want to be when I grow up?
Why is this important to me?
What is holding me back from doing what I love or becoming who I want to be? Is my obstacle a lack of time, knowledge, skill, money, support, or belief? (Hint - sometimes, we are our obstacle.)
How can I overcome the obstacle that separates me from my passion? Do I need to carve out time, acquire knowledge, learn a new skill, locate resources, or build my belief? Who do I know, who can help me?
Don't fool yourself into thinking that your time has passed. It's only when we believe it is too late, that makes it so. Don't hold back because you fear that someone could make fun of you. Elizabeth Jeffreys says, "Your vision is not big enough unless people are falling over laughing." Oh, how I wish I had known this when I was in the second grade.
It has been 40 years since I have told anyone that I first wanted to be a ventriloquist when I grew up. Why? Based on the response of my classmates and my teacher that day in elementary school, I surmised that my wanting to be a ventriloquist must be a stupid idea. Well, guess what? Today, you could say that I have become somewhat of a ventriloquist. I may not have a character/puppet sitting on my knee when I entertain a crowd. Instead I open my motivational speaking program with a character performance.
There is nothing more fulfilling than to become who you were destined to be, to do what you love, and love what you do.

Just Laughs: Soccer Etiquette
At one point during a soccer match in America, the coach said to one of his young players, 'Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?' The little boy nodded in the affirmative. 'Do you understand that what matters is how we play together as a team?' The little boy nodded yes.
'So,' the coach continued, 'When offside is given, or a foul is not seen, you don't argue or swear or attack the referee. Do you understand all that?' Again the little boy nodded.
'Good,' said the coach, 'Now go over there and explain it to your mother.'

My Bubble: I'm The Favorite Aunt For Now ...
Some more science and math questions? No worry ... this time Auntie Wenny's prepared. Let's go online!
Looks like I'm the favorite aunt for now. The moment my grand-nephew sees me, he was so excited to get down to his science and math homework. He was so eager for me to go through his homework with the help from an online tutoring site. I can understand his excitement since he managed an 'A' when he submitted his last homework to his teacher.
His mother was so surprised at his enthusiasm that she's considering signing up for this leading online tutoring site. After all it's only $99.99 per month for all subjects and her son could obtain unlimited tutoring that's available 24x7 right in the comfort of their home and under her watchful eyes. He could easily obtain assistance on prime numbers or get geometry help whenever he needs it. He could also find chemistry help and physics help right at his finger tips. The chemistry homework help can definitely be handy for him since this is his weakest subject. No doubt online tutoring are specifically for K-12 and college students, it can be a great problem solver for many young kids who attend public schools just like my grand-nephew.
I am so happy to see my grand-nephew doing his homework with eagerness. I could still remember the previous times when my niece would be nagging him to finish his school homework in frustration.

My Bubble: What An Embarrassment ...
Gosh! Need my help with math questions? Frankly I don't remember much of them these days. Try asking me anything about a standard form or prime numbers or linear equations or algebra equations and let me throw you a blank! It's either my brain cells are so deteriorated with age or I must've returned all those knowledge to the teacher when I left school. Moreover, I studied my math and science in Bahasa Malaysia back then, so these terms take alittle longer to be translates inside my brain.
It all started when my grand-nephew asked me how to divide some fractions and I coolly began to teach him without second guesses. However, I was totally red-faced when he went on to explore other questions on pre-algebra. I was mortified when my sister ranted how I had usually aced maths back in my school days. I know I should feel complimented but that was just not the case this morning.
Luckily, I am still alittle quick-witted to remember an online tutoring site which also provide free online help on math, English and science. Nick had shown me this site months earlier. Although we're not paid subcriber yet, we were still able to obtain effective answers to my grand-nephew's workbook questionaires. This online tutoring site is especially suited for the K-12 and college students as they provide one-to-one supplemental education at very reasonable rates and individual convenience. The students just connect to a tutor whenever they require some assignment assistance or whenever they are ready to learn.

Law Of Attraction: The Power Of Enthusiasm
No matter what your present situation is, you can change it by the power of enthusiasm. In the previous article we have discussed the importance of controlling your thought by editing your mental picture to be able to discard the bad ones from the good. Therefore if you want success, hold on a picture of success in your mind and feel exhilarated with that thought and it will manifest because that is what you feel.
Do not worry how the universe will rearrange itself to give you what you want. The Law of Attraction says 'the how's are the domain of the universe.' If you visualize and believe that the picture in your mind is true and release it to the universe, it will manifest.
If you use the power of enthusiasm you are guaranteed success because it gives energy while negative emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, and frustrations can drain your energy. If it is money that you want, create a mental picture of having the money you need and feel good about it then you will be guided in thought and action that will make your picture a reality. It is no accident that people who speaks more about wealth has it. They know how to apply the Secret and they habituated it, remember doing it all the time, and not just as a onetime event.
Think about how bad things are going with you and you will get more of how bad it is. If you complain about the traffic and being late the universe will line those things up for you because the universe does not know whether the signal you are giving is a good or bad feeling. It responds to your very thought irrespective of whether you are imagining or remembering as long as you put your emotions to it.
