What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

Another week another round of gratitude list to keep me grounded and appreciate the people and things that are going on around me.

Here's my random list of gratitude for the past week:

1. I am so grateful for the increasing writing opportunities that are making their regular rounds to keep my weekdays occupied and constructive.

2. I am so grateful for the changing focus in certain areas of my life that's putting my quest to master the Law of Attraction on track.

3. I am so grateful that I have a new buddy to share my thoughts, feelings, ideas and even complaints with.

4. I am so grateful that I am enjoying my retirement with an increased inner calm.

My Bubble: The Royal Wedding Of The Century

On 29 July 1981, as an 18-year-old, I sat in front of the TV watching the ceremonial splendour of the wedding of Lady Diana to HRH Prince Charles. It was the Royal Wedding of the century ... the 20th Century then.

Today, 30 years on and once again I am glued in front of TV watching yet another Royal Wedding of the 21st century ... the marriage of HRH Prince William to the girl of his choice, Kate Middleton. The couple have now been given the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to mark their wedding today. It was so befitting that the last Duke of Cambridge had also married a commoner love just like Prince William.

Prince William looked so dashing in the red tunic of the Irish Guards while his bride looked stunningly classic and beautiful in her highly guarded designer wedding gown. It was alike a magical fairy-tale wedding that was celebrated all over the world with full media coverage. This marriage is expected to open another new chapter in the history of the British monarchy just as his parents' marriage did in the last century.

Law Of Attraction: In Harmony With Our Natural Color

Two years’ ago, I had written about the effect of color therapy on our visualizations and manifestations. We now know that focusing on a specific color can change the frequency of the energy that emanates from within us. Color being a source of light, it can be used to heal the negative feelings and thoughts that are blocking our desired manifestations.

Color is all around us throughout the day. It travels to our eyes the very same way music travels to our ears. What we see has an instant effect on our feelings and thoughts as much as what we hear too. When we hear a song with all the many instruments and vocals in perfect harmony, it pleases our feelings and thoughts. Likewise, it is also true with appearances. Our perception of another person can be easily changed depending on the reflections of the colors that adorned him or her. Looking at the person whose colors are not in harmony with his/her natural skin tone can create some discord. The disharmony of colors may not necessarily draw attention away but it does risk the occurrence of negative thoughts and feelings in us. Unintentionally, our reactions rebounded along with our subtle resentment and rejection to cast the person into a negative state of mind.

Colors that are in harmony with our natural skin tone create radiance, warmth, pleasure and friendliness. In order words, it motivates a pleasant attraction. Colors that are in harmony could smoothen out the blemishes, add the sparkle in our eyes, camouflage the fine lines and botches or even hide the extra inches around the waist and arms. It creates a liveliness that receives acceptance from the people around us and directly enhances our own state of mind. Acceptance builds confidence!

Nature has given us our hair color, eye color and our skin tone in perfect harmony. The other colors that we select to adorn ourselves like our clothes, cosmetics and the accessories can either heighten that harmony or create disharmony. Bear in mind that our favorite color may not necessarily mean it is the best color to suit us.

We should establish a whole range of colors that harmonizes with our natural color in order to enhance our self-confidence. When we are self-confident, we feel great. This is one of the important elements to help us tap into the power of the law of attraction.

Just Laughs: Heaven's Rule

Three old friends pass away together in an accident and go to heaven.

When they arrive, St. Peter says, "We have only one rule here in Heaven... don't step on the ducks."

So they enter heaven and, sure enough, there are ducks all over the place.

It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, one of the friends accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest woman the man has ever seen.

St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly woman!"

The next day, the second friend accidentally steps on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing, and with him is another extremely ugly woman.

He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first friend.

The third friend observes all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly woman, is very, VERY careful where he steps.

He manages to go months without stepping on any duck but one day St. Peter comes up to him with the most gorgeous woman he has ever laid eyes on... a very tall, tan, curvaceous, sexy blonde.

St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.

The man asks, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all eternity?"

The women replies, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck."

Poetry: My World

Poetry by:
Michelle Strattis

My future is coming alive
All tomorrow's will be mine
It's just around the corner
Just a pause in time

I see into the days ahead
And what I want for me
I see smiles and happiness
All the love I want there to be

A house is not a home
Unless with love it stands
And I would not be full
Without the love of man

A yard is just a yard
But with pretty flowers to grow
It makes the sight so colorful
It makes you proud, you know

And alone we cannot be
For two together as one
Is what "GOD" wanted, you see
Hand in Hand with love

So come with me to my world
It's a world of goodness and care
Come with me, I'll take you
Never hurt, only love, will be there

My Bubble: Three Bags In One Big Present!

My 3-year-old grand-niece wants to go for ballet class. She has been pestering her mummy for months and finally she’s getting what she wanted. She will be starting her ballet lessons soon at the beginning of next month and she’s so excited that everything she talks about is ballet … ballet … ballet!

Anyway, I guess this grand-aunty is not helping much to tone her excitement down either. I just gave her three cute bags for her to use for her classes. I know I know … her mummy already gave me a piece of her mind. I know three bags are way too much but I just can’t help it! They were so cute and were so appropriate for her ballet classes that I had to buy them for her.

It actually started when I was placing an order online for a new Stephen Joseph duffle bag to replace my earlier one that had been ruined by Lo Kong in the wash. I chanced upon their new collection of Stephen Joseph toddler backpacks. Browsing the collection, I was attracted to one of the pink backpack with a cute pair of ballet shoes. It is so girlie and looked so sweet. I instantly knew that my grand-niece would definitely like it too. I immediately added it to my order before I spotted the same design for the kid duffle bags and lunch tote collections.

I loved them all and now my grand-niece is head over heels with them too. I had the biggest hug from her as she planted the longest kiss ever on my cheek when I presented to her all gift-wrapped as one big birthday present. She just celebrated her third birthday over the weekend.

I just can’t wait to see her in her ballet tutu, matching leotard and ballet shoes. She’s definitely going to make one heck of a cute little ballerina.

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

A week is gone and this week is really not a very productive week for me. Partially contributed to being under the weather. I'm still not well today but as you are reading this, I've probably already arrived in a small town called Bidor, somewhere upper north of Kuala Lumpur City. Lo Kong is participating in the annual half-marathon race held there tomorrow. Yes, look's like we'll miss church on Easter Sunday!

Life is not always about material gains. This week I am so thankful that I've found some spiritual peace and renewal, especially it's now the season of Lent culminating with Good Friday yesterday and today, it's Holy Saturday, the last day of the holy week.  I shall complete my gratitude with a prayer;

God, heavenly Father,
look upon me and hear my prayer
during this holy Season of Lent.
By the good works You inspire,
help me to discipline my body
and to be renewed in spirit.

Without You I can do nothing.
By Your Spirit help me to know what is right
and to be eager in doing Your will.
Teach me to find new life through penance.
Keep me from sin, and help me live
by Your commandment of love.
God of love, bring me back to You.
Send Your Spirit to make me strong
in faith and active in good works.
May my acts of penance bring me Your forgiveness,
open my heart to Your love,
and prepare me for the coming feast
of the Resurrection of Jesus.

Lord, during this Lenten Season,
nourish me with Your Word of life
and make me one
with You in love and prayer.

Fill my heart with Your love
and keep me faithful to the Gospel of Christ.
Give me the grace to rise above my human weakness.
Give me new life by Your Sacraments, especially the Mass.

Father, our source of life,
I reach out with joy to grasp Your hand;
let me walk more readily in Your ways.
Guide me in Your gentle mercy,
for left to myself I cannot do Your Will.

Father of love, source of all blessings,
help me to pass from my old life of sin
to the new life of grace.
Prepare me for the glory of Your Kingdom.
I ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.

Amen.

Law Of Attraction: Where Does God Fit In?

I believe in God, the Infinite Being, the creator and ruler of the Universe. However, I also believe when modern science claimed that the world was created by the Big Bang. I believe that both divine intervention and science co-exist because God who is of the higher power gave mankind the intelligence and the knowledge in the first place. There is no science without the Infinite Being.

God is good and conveyed His well meaning teachings through the respective religion we embraced. There is no religion in the world that teaches us to be bad but men’s misinterpretation and the desire to control others have taken God’s teaching out of context. This has given rise to extremism, conflict and hate in the world today.

I believe in God and I believe in the law of attraction. Many who do not accept the principles of the law of attraction believe that it is a modern-aged hype. Unknown to them, God gave us the law of attraction through his words in the Bible and even Jesus spoke of the principle of this self-help law. The Bible is filled with many verses that support the law of attraction. God had given us the greatest self-help book ever written, the Bible.

The law of attraction must not be mistaken to attract only material gains. It is actually about achieving abundance in all aspects of our life from faith, relationships, happiness and joy to material wealth. God certainly wants us to live abundantly as indicated in John 10:10 where Jesus said, “I come so that they may have life and have it more abundantly.”

The law of attraction states that when we ask and believe that we will get what we asked for with an unwavering faith, the Infinite Being will mediate all the events in the world to deliver to us what we have asked for. Matthew 7:7 reads “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." This verse signifies to seek with earnestness, diligence and perseverance combined with a proper spirit, humility and sincerity. His promise to give shall be in the best of our interest.

The law of attraction can be a double-edged sword. As much as it is used to attract abundance, it can also attract failures. A clear example of this law of attraction principle is seen in Job 3:25 when he said, "Because a dreadful thing I have dreaded, it has come upon me. And what I have been scared of comes to me."

Our life is a gift from God. Just as he intended, we have the power to think and a free will to design our life as we wish. Whether we believe in the law of attraction or otherwise, it will continue to exist as long as the Bible plays a vital role in our life. God is with us always through the Bible and the law of attraction.

My Bubble: The Blind Side

Just wipe away some tears that had swelled up from watching Oscar-winning Sandra Bullock’s The Blind Side. It was one of Astro’s latest April movie releases and it was such a sentimental and wholesome family movie.

I was busily completing the latest batch of my ghostwriting articles on online degree programs when the show came on. In between the humorous distractions from the movie, it popped an idea into my mind to squeeze in online degree programs in films as one of the examples to support my content while digging for more information at The National Center For Education Statistics College Navigator http://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/. This is really a very dry subject to write that’s taking longer than it is supposed to.

Back to The Blind Side, it was a remarkable true story of a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home who was taken in by a well-to-do white family who subsequently helped him to achieve his full potential. Sandra Bullock, one my favorite actresses played Leigh Anne Tuohy, the well-to-do feisty Memphis mum who took the virtually silent huge youngster into her home and her heart. She motivated and guided him to greatness on the football field and a college education at her alma-mater, the University of Mississippi. As much as his new family did for him, he in turn led them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.

It definitely made me pondered about myself too. Leigh Anne Touhy is a real-life samaritan and there are many more out there just like her although others may choose to keep a low profile. Part of gratitude is being charitable, to share our blessings with the less fortunate and I questioned myself if I have done enough? Am I capable of going as far as Leigh Anne in such predicament? Frankly, if I’m enjoying the same privileges as her, I know I would. But if I don't share the same benefits, how differently can I contribute? What would You have done?

Some friends shared so much about being charitable, about wanting to help others but at the crux of it, even every minute or cent spent becomes a grumble.  Regretfully, I am equally guilty for not pushing the limit in such causes.  It is the season of Lent, a season of reflection and penance ... I'm sad because I know I have not done enough!

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

The purpose I expressed my weekly gratitudes is solely as a reminder to myself to be thankful for all things good and bad that has briefly passed through my life or those that has left a big footprint there.

Some weeks are full of exciting happenings, some weeks are just so humdrum while there are weeks that drained all my energies and shifted my focus away from the real objectives that I have set out to achieve. Anyhow the situations turned out to be, there are always room to be grateful as everything happens for a reason or purpose.

This week I am so grateful for the peace and quiet that allowed me to rediscover and realign my goals in life. I am so grateful for the awareness that God has shed in me to stay on the right direction and the motivation to continually move forward.

Law Of Attraction: Where Are YOU At Right NOW?

You have probably heard of the 'Law of Attraction' by now right? If you have not, then where have you been for the last two years? A good place to start is by going to youtube and keying it in - there are some great videos on there (and some not so great) and I particularly reccoment Abraham Hicks as being the big guys in this field.

Of course, before you bugger off to do that, I want you to take a wee moment to read this article written be ME!

In a nutshell, the law of attraction states that 'what you focus on grows' and your thoughts go into your mind and then down into your subconscious and this in turn drives you - a little like a sat nav. Your thoughts generate feelings - and feelings set your personal energy field to a unique setting. Are you following me here? I'm kinda speeding you through on a crash course in the LOA!

Your frequency, your personal energy then activates the law of attraction. Which means that what you think, what you feel, you attract more of it right back to you!

You are literally like a human magnet, and so make sure that your thoughts are geared towards attracting the life that you truly desire. It's a slap in the face when you first hear this next line, but the sad fact is, that you are exactly where you are at in life, because you got yourself there. Your thoughts created your reality - and they continue to do so!

Focus on what you DO want more of, rather than what you'd like to get rid of as the LOA does not hear your want/do not want - it just delivers whatever it is that you are thinking about. And so the best way to go about changing your mindset, is to imagine that you already have the things, the person, the life that you want - visualise, meditate, imagine it's there already. feel it, touch it, smell it.... drink it in. And then as you feel the joy of this experience, the law of attraction will pick up on it and run with it !! Of course, this does not happen instantaneously, and so you will need to adopt this new way of thinking and make it a daily part of your routine..

Be proactive - take the power back.

Only YOU can make real changes in YOUR life, and it is your choice as to whether or not you do this.

But the moment, the power and beauty of this moment, is that it is a new chance, a new start, and whatever you were thinking a second ago, you can literally press the pause button on that thought process and begin a new one.

That's the trick to remaining focused in the moment - you almost have to become an observer of your thoughts, and notice when you are off kilter. As soon as you feel yourself slipping back into a negative thought pattern, snap yourself out of it, and guide yourself back into your positive zone. It takes practise, so don't expect it to just come easy, or give up at the first hurdle. Change requires real effort, and that is something that a lot of people just don't get. They expect it to come easy, and when it doesn't, write it off and say 'pah, what a load of poppycock!'.

I recommend wearing a regular elastic band around your wrist, but not one that is too tight, as I don't want to be held responsible for you cutting off your circulation! And every time you feel yourself drifting off into the negative zone, snap the band hard, to pull yourself back into the moment. It serves as a trigger, a gentle reminder... in NLP we would call it an 'anchor'. i.e an action that is linked in your mind to serving a particular purpose. This then reminds your subconscious of what you want it to drink in/absorb.

Just make small changes to begin with. Post a note somewhere that you can see it daily and remind yourself of 'the power and beauty of the moment'. Write that very sentence and keep it on you at all times. It too will serve as an anchor, to pull you back into the present.

You see, all you have to do, as a first step, is just get used to reminding yourself of the power and beauty of the present moment, and that's it ! It doesn't have to be complicated by thoughts and philosophy. Once you are focused in the moment, you can then just try and keep your mind as clear as possible and just 'be'.

Go with the 'flow', or as teachers of LOA would say, 'remain connected to source energy'. When you are in that moment, when all is crystal clear - that is when you are conneted to the present, and that is when you are at your most powerful.

YOU can create the minute, hour, day, week, month, year, LIFE that you desire.

So what's stopping you?

Where are YOU at right now?

Just Laughs: God Is Watching ...

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic school for lunch.

At the head of the table was a large pile of apples.

The nun had made a note, "Take only one, God is watching!"

Moving through the line, to the other end of the table, was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

One of the boys had written a note, "Take all you want, God is watching the apples."

My Bubble: A Little Blog Housekeeping ...

Amusingly, I had Lo Kong wake me before he left for the office this morning so that I could go for my free breakfast at McDonalds. It was a FREE sausage McMuffin with egg. Unfortunately, Nick couldn't accompany me since he had already promised to join a friend for Klang Bak Kut Teh.

I just don't get what got over me today. Next, after getting a few articles written out of the way, I literally spent the next 4 hours cleaning up my blog! You can say it was more like housekeeping. Regretfully though, this housekeeping was at the expense of the over-due housekeeping for my home ... tsk tsk tsk!!!

Anyway, my blog has since slipped in as my virtual office where I not only continue to share my thoughts and grievances but where I get to earn a few ringgits as pocket money with my 2-cents worth of creativity. Peanuts for incentives I guess but it surely beats the 20-over years of rush to work in the peak-hour traffic woes to only spent the next 12 hours tolerating some gloating boss.

Like any workstation, conventional or virtual, housekeeping is important. Not only does it improve the overall appearance but it's becomes a little corner to take pride in. Housekeeping my blog is also important to ensure that all my links are error-free, money-making ads are in place and any unused stuffs are taken out of the way.

I just hope a little housekeeping along the way will help my readers to enjoy a speedier navigation around my blog. Cheers!!!

My Bubble: Leave Baseball To The Americans ...

Facing a writer's block earlier today, I was just bumming around the internet looking for interesting stuffs to read and generate some ideas for my ghostwriting assignments. I have one more article to go but my brain juice seemed to have dried up. ZILCH!!!

Frankly, I still have not found any brilliant ideas for my article but I stumbled on a piece of news about baseball. I never knew that my country was ever into baseball and even more unbelievable is that baseball is one of the competed sports in the biennial SEA Games. It was reported that Malaysia will be sending a baseball contingent to the 26th SEA Games in November 2011.

WoW, certainly never heard of any baseball league locally unlike in the US and Canada. It has such a huge following over there that you can easily buy tickets online to watch every game being played every day. You can find the New York Mets Tickets to see them play against Washington Nationals tomorrow, or perhaps the Philadelphia Phillies Tickets to see them play against the New York Mets. They practically live and breathe baseball 24/7 and the ticket selections are endless going by the respective teams and dates. Depending on which favorite team's playing, theirs fans can easily order the Pittsburgh Pirates Tickets, the San Diego Padres Tickets or the San Francisco Giants Tickets online at the comfort of their home, complete the transaction by credit card and it will be delivered to them by Fedex.

The most popular local sport at the moment is badminton but it still fails by an enormous gap in comparison to the popularity and ticket demand for baseball in the US.  I wonder how Malaysian baseball is going to fare in comparison even ten years from now?  Don't they know there are sports that are just not meant for us?

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

Sometimes it is sad to be awakened by the truth but acceptance and gratitude is the quickest way to overcome the disappointment and hurt. It is better to know now than to be dragged deeper into a well of pretence that will ultimately split the path to return.

I am so grateful for the insights and revelations that have come to light in recent months to inevitably prepare me for a daunting effort to move forward and leave some beautiful memories behind with a heavy heart. Everything happens for a reason and these experiences give me wisdom to know what I had not known in the first place.

Law Of Attraction: What's Draining Your Energy?

The law of attraction depends on your energy to coordinate with the Universe before it can deliver your goals, desires or expectations into your life. However, if you are lacking in your energy, it will affect the strength of your vibrations that deliver your subconscious requests to the Universe. As it will always happen, your weakened energy will soon be weighed down by a lack of enthusiasm and confidence, negative thoughts, anxiety and even anger.

In order to overcome these unwanted burdens, it is important that you identify the things that are draining your energy. It may be work-related problems or the clutter in your house or the kids at home or maybe it’s your health that’s worrying you.

Problems are only temporary if you can focus on the solutions. Having distinguished the issues, it is important to find ways to eliminate them and replenish your energy. Replenished energy equals renewed enthusiasm that brings back the vitality of your vibrations. With the unwanted burdens out of the way, you will be emotionally and physically freed to attract better things into your life.

It is amazing how your mood can be totally reversed once the unwanted issues that are draining your energy are eliminated. You will feel an enormous surge of energy returning. You become more productive not only in your work but also mentally and emotionally.

How sad would you be, if there's no presents except for this so called cake ...

Only a Kenny Roger's muffin for my birthday?
Birthday Song #1 ...

Or imagine you've got no presents but received this, it's not even a cake ...

What?  Brownie & Ice Cream for my birthday??
Birthday Song #2 ...

Or you only received this cake for your birthday ... A Durian Cake, definitely yum yum!

Ahhh ... this is more like it!
Birthday Song #3 ...

Cough cough cough ... after singing the Birthday Song 3 times!
On the other hand, would you flip if you're sung your birthday song 3 times with 3 different birthday cakes concurrently in one night?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, BERNARD!!!

My Bubble: The King Of Fruits Is Back!

To my foreign friends who do not know what is The King of Fruits, this is how it looks like. The taste and smell is something to be acquired and it is up to each individual's preference.

Durian is especially famous for its smell. Most Asians love the durians but for many who have not had the opportunity to grow up with the king of fruits, this is deemed the stinky fruit. Conclusion, it may be the heavenly indulgence for some, it is a stinking hell for others!

Anyway, studies found the durian to contain a high amount of sugar, vitamin C and potassium. It is also a good source of carbohydrates, proteins and raw fats. Definitely a good alternative to carbo-load for my lo kong before any of his marathon race. Only setback, this fruit is seasonal.

As I am a coffee-loving junky, I've just found way to complement my coffee with the king of fruit. It has been recommended to drink coffee while eating durian due to its harmonious flavor with the fruit. Supposedly invigorating, so I'll volunteer to be the guinea pig first!

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

It is now the first week in April ... 3 months has passed for 2011.  It's time again to evaluate the invaluable happenings that has passed my way this past week.

My random list of gratitude for the week are:

Law Of Attraction: Attract Things We Want With The Right Thoughts

The simple understanding about the law of attraction is that we bring forth our life experiences through our thoughts and emotions. In short, we manifest the things that we think and feel strongly about. Irrespective you are believer or otherwise, we are all experiencing the workings of this universal law right now.

Many people reject the fundamentals of this law. The general consensus is that no one in their right frame of mind would think of being in debt, sick, homeless or in an unhappy relationship. No one would ever want to inflict on themselves with so much pain or troubles. We all look forward to being happy, to be in a harmonious relationship, to be wealthy and we definitely want to be healthy.

Yes, almost everyone thinks of the positive things they want all the time. However, within the sublimal consciousness of our mind, there are constant fears that are predominant. These predominant fears create our anxiety, anger, disappointment, frustration and even competition. It is these predominant fears that throw our thoughts out of control and inevitably create the environment we do not want. At the very least, they are the stumbling blocks to our wants. When our strongest thought is worry, we will face conditions that have cause for concern or when our strongest thought is of pain, then our reality is a condition of feeling unwell. Imagine when our strongest thought is conflict, we will face a reality where arguments thrive.

In order for the law of attraction to work to our benefits, we have to condition our sublimal consciousness to remove the fears and doubts. This may be easy said than done as some of these fears may have been very deep seeded from as far back as when we were a child. Establishing and understanding our innermost fears and doubts are only part of the initial steps to help change the way we think.

If we are experiencing the things that we do not want now, it must be due to a thought or a series of thoughts that are conflicting with our beliefs. We need to discover that deep seeded fear or doubt that is troubling our thought and turn it over in order to change our reality to the way we want it to be.
