Affirmation of the Week ...

I am living the life that I've imagined years ago. I am exactly where I want to be and I am relishing in the moment ... enjoying a peaceful existence, doing the things I love that somehow make the chores I do not like pretty much more bearable. Feeling alive, grateful and joyful is going to bring more abundance into my life.

This is my affirmation for the week ...

Poetry: Be The Best You

Be The Best You
An inspirational poem from The Poetry Pad

We are perfectly imperfect
and beautiful within
because beauty isn’t skin deep
it’s deeper than the skin

We are who we allow ourselves to become
we get what we give, we give what we get
so give it your all
and don’t ever give up

Be the best you
be the person you want to be
just remember to be yourself
not who others want to see

This day is yours
it belongs to no one but you
put one foot in front of the other
and take a step closer
to making all your dreams come true

You are perfectly imperfect
and this is okay
because no one is flawless
no one is perfectly made

You are beautiful within
and your smile reflects
the love inside your heart
So, share a grin
and let others see who you are

Be the best you
just be who you are inside
be the person that makes you happy
and live your best life

Living Deliberately: Has Your Life Gotten Lost In Translation?

Have you ever asked yourself, “What should I do with my life?”

If you had watched the movie “Lost in Translation” you could probably relate to the question and the movie's two main characters who are struggling to find the real meaning in their lives despite their circumstances. The movie follows a fading American film actor with a humdrum marriage and the bored wife of a photographer who had chanced upon each other in Tokyo and how they contemplate on their miserable situations as they spent their days together. What a complete helplessness in double proportions!

Undeniably, there are people who seek to find true love or the perfect mate but they don’t seem to find it. There are some people seeking to find the true meaning of life and they too can’t find it. Really, do you think what they are seeking is so elusive or impossible?

As Henry Ford puts it, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right!” So if you think you have not found your perfect mate or the meaning to your life, you are right! But think about it. Why is it possible for some to live the life you seek?

The reason is simple. You do not find the meaning of life by seeking but rather by giving your life a meaning. You have to change your perception because life does not come to you but you come to life by adding the excitement to your existence. To give your life the meaning it deserve you have got to create it. The meaning of life is within you … within me … within every one of us according to our own translations. Life can be as fascinating and liberating as you want it to be.

Stop blaming the world and others of oppressing your life and your happiness because when you do that, you are giving up on your ability to change your life. You are not as helpless as you want to think. Start taking responsibility as to how you want to translate your life into the reality that will make you happy. No one can do it for you except yourself. This is a journey you have to walk alone but optimistically, it is not entirely a lonely world for you. You can open up your life to people who are already living for love and excitement ... share their hopes, faiths as well as their desires for the future. Their emotions and energy can give one you the inspiration and motivation to move on, move forward and anticipate each morning.

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

I found that having an attitude for gratitude allows me to enjoy the abundance that are already existing in my life. That's why I believe if we focus regularly on the things we are grateful for, we are able to attract more things to be grateful for even if they are not necessarily according to our expectation.

Frankly it doesn't cost a thing to practise an attitude for gratitude.  Gratitude is free and it prevails in everyone.  We just need to recognise and acknowledge the things in our lives that bring us satisfaction and joy.  It is a way to arrive at our happy place by appreciating life in the present moment and to enjoy life in the present moment.  When we have finally arrive at our happy place, then the easier it is for us to spot the opportunities that are laid in front of us.

So, do you recognise the things in your life that you are grateful for?

Since I started making a conscious effort to practise gratitude every day no matter how small they are, I have become a calmer person and always striving to look at the positive side of unfavorable situations.  I have also learn to live my life specifically for myself according to my own terms.

There was a very black spot in my life some years back.  While I may not have wanted it to happen at all, the most dreaded had happened and it cannot be undone.  Today I am grateful that it became a turning point in my life ... an eye-opener that prompted a big change in my life.  I am thankful that I am making conscious efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  I am thankful that I am able to walk, run, swim and cycle to keep my diabetes in check.  Rather than concentrating on things that I do not have, I am grateful that I have so many things that I've never had before to make me happy and feeling satisfied.

Poetry: Magic In You

Magic In You
An inspirational poem from The Poetry Pad

Don’t ever give up on
what’s in your heart
Don’t ever let go of
What it is you believe in
Don’t ever say the road is too tough
And that it’s better to quit

Don’t ever think that you don’t matter;
Because you’re important to me
Don’t ever let anyone tell you
That you can’t follow your dreams

Don’t ever think that the world
Doesn’t need someone like you;
You’ve touched my heart and my life
Just by being who you are
And the things you do.

There’s a magic in you
That no other could possess.
A quality, a warmth, a sparkle
That will carry you through life’s tests

There’s a magic in you
That makes you special to me.

Law Of Attraction: It Starts With Believing

Everything that you decide to do, it all starts with you. It all starts with your belief in yourself. It all starts with your trust that you are doing the right thing. All the achievements in your life come about by first building on your belief. Your belief is the blueprint of your desire and the law of attraction is the creative process that is going to make it become your reality.

Your belief is a powerful thing and when you combined it with the law of attraction, anything you can conceive you can achieve. Believe it or not, this universal law has been around for centuries working hand-in-hand with your thoughts and emotions at every second of your life. What you see happening in your life today was first created in your thought. A belief is just a thought that you have activated and given a lot of your attention and focus over a period of time. The primary basis to the law of attraction is that whatever you continually focus your attention on is manifested as your reality. That’s the easiest way you will understand the concept of “like attracts likes.”

Majority of people harbor countless beliefs, many that are instilled by others and many they themselves are not even aware of. Generally, you may strongly believe that something positive is going to happen for you or just the exact opposite, you are certain that something bad is going to happen to you. Either way, you accept that the situation is true because it is your belief. What you believe will happen in your life irrespective you are conscious or unconscious but when your belief starts to hold you back from achieving the things you want in life, it is a limiting belief that you would need to reboot at the soonest. A limiting belief is still your belief. The only difference is that you have accepted the fact that what you want is just too impossible to be happening for you. Your entire attention and focus just zoom in on all that is negative and the law of attraction kicks in to maintain you in the unfavorably receiving end.

If you want to turn around any undesirable things that are stuck in your life and start pursuing a life that is more rewarding, you have to change the kind of belief you are holding on to. Your belief influences your emotions and actions. Positive beliefs generate positive emotions and inspire you into action. Negative beliefs draw negative emotions and certainly do not inspire any actions. If there are at all, they are often times self-sabotaging. The law of attraction does not differentiate between the positive and the negative as it works any which way. However, you will be glad to know that you can guide the universal law to work for you.

Don’t you think you already know which type of belief you should possess? Then you should also know that it is entirely up to you to change your type of belief now. No other person can do it for you. Remember, if you can find the time to create negative thoughts to sabotage your life, you can actually do the same to create positive thoughts that can improve your life. So choose wisely and use the law of attraction to your advantage.

Living Deliberately: Are You Intent To Begin Your Deliberate Journey?

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao-tzu. The intent of this ancient phrase is very clear. No matter how large your task, no matter how far the distance, no matter how insurmountable the challenge may seem to be, it all starts with just one step. The crux of it is that if you don’t try, you are not going to achieve or overcome anything.

Living deliberately is as easy or as hard anyhow you want to think of it. No one should be deprived from living the life they want as long as it is not out of this world. It is your birthright! When you have made the decision that you want to live your way, you will take deliberate actions to look for positive aspects in everything that surrounds you, everything that you are doing and every experience that you come across. As you continually focus on all that are positive, you will notice your thoughts and emotions improving positively, changing your perspective and increasing your motivations. It does not matter if it is going to be tough or otherwise, you become confident that you can do it as long as you are intent to pursue it.

You make your life deliberate when you give it a purpose, your attention and how you choose to respond to every moment. Being intent to live your life deliberately means you have acceptance and appreciation of whatever life is throwing at you and you are intent to find the opportunities in them. Irrespective they are simple or complicated you can trust you are stronger than how you’re seen.

So are you intent to begin your journey to live the life as you desire?

My Bubble: I'm Feeling The Pressure!

It’s actually another 7½ months away which rightfully gives me ample time to train but I am still making myself all stressed out!

Yup, I’ve signed up to accompany lo kong for an ultra-trail marathon in Sabah called “The Most Beautiful Thing.” An adventure challenge taking place in Kota Kinabalu on 14th & 15th September, it’s either to go for the 25km, 50km or 100km. We have registered for the 50km which must be completed within 15 hours. I am really really scared since the furthest I’ve ever run was only 12km and this is not a road run either. It is something that I’ve never done before!

I know this pressure is not doing me any good. I am already feeling under the weather the past weeks and it’s preventing me from training properly. Gosh, I’ve just got to work myself out of this pressure cooker and soon!

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

It's been several weeks since I have posted my gratitude list.  Oh no, it's not that I do not have anything to be grateful for!  There's just always something ... anything ... even something you'd think is insignificant.  However having an appreciative attitude in life, we learned that what we may take for granted someone else may be praying hard to have.

So folks, my blog friends ... let's not take things for granted anymore.  Awake each morning to a brand new day with gratefulness and give thanks even if it is just putting both our feet on the floor first in the morning.  I try every day to make this practice ... "Thank you Lord for this brand new day where I will continue to enjoy your blessings and make amends for the mistakes of yesterday."

Practise gratitude because it makes us happy.  The more we practise it, the more the effect gets to us.  Yes this is true!

People who approach life with a sense of gratitude are constantly aware of all that is wonderful in their life. Because they enjoy the fruits of their successes, they seek out more success. And when things don't go as planned, people who are grateful can put failure into perspective.

So are you grateful for today?
