Poetry: Shun Delays!

"My evil genius Procrastination has whispered me to tarry 'til a more convenient season." ~ Mary Todd Lincoln.

I guess I have been fooling myself by busying myself with other stuffs.  At the end, it simply meant I am procrastinating to get entries posted in my blog.   I'd like to share this poem which shall keep me reminded that time waits for no one.  It is time to shun any further delays!

Shun Delays!
by Robert Southwell

Shun delays, they breed remorse;
Take thy time, while time is lent thee;
Creeping snail’s have weakest force;
Fly their fault, lest thou repent thee;
Good is best when soonest wrought,
Ling’ring labours come to naught.
Hoist tip sail while gale doth last,
Tide and wind stay no man’s pleasure;
Seek not time, when time is past,
Sober speed is wisdom’s leisure,
After-wits are dearly bought,
Let thy fore-wit guide thy thought.
