Law of Attraction: Getting Egoism Out of the Way ...

The primary motivation of the ego is one of outer self-importance and self-image. The ego is what keeps you separated from everyone and everything else. It hinders you from living the self-empowered and fulfilling life you so deserve to live.

Attempting to minimize the ego can be important as you begin your journey using the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction inculcates non-competition in an abundant universe. There's simply enough of everything for everybody. The abundance of the Universe is simply unlimited and you too have an access to it, if you can get your ego out of the way. To help minimize the ego, try practising some of these restraints:

  1. Try not to judge anything or anyone else around you, including and especially yourself. Don't give in to your ego's nagging, criticism or worry.

  2. Simply listen and give your full attention when others talk to you. Do you normally worry more about what your response is going to be instead of actually listening to what another person is actually saying? That is just your ego butting in again, looking for an intelligent response.
  3. When you are in conflict with someone else, ask yourself, "Is it better to be right, or better to be happy?" Your ego is the only one who cares whether you are right.

  4. When you feel that people are judging you and your ego feels the need to respond, simply say, "SO WHAT?! We are all the same, you and me."

  5. Appreciate all the people and things that exist in your life. Be at peace with where they are now.

  6. Make peace with yourself and affirm your own worth. Let go of the need to be externally defined and sustained.

Remember Friedrich Nietzsche said "Whenever I climb I am followed by a dog called Ego". It will not be easy, I assure you. You are about to find out how difficult it can be to get rid of ego. But as with anything, with will get better.

I am going to have to read this more carefully leter. I know nobody ever wins an argument, then again, sometimes right is right. This will never work for prosecuting attorneys I believe.
Enlightening and inspiring seem to close, so I choose interesting.

Hi Alan

I presume you must be in agreement with my entry since you ranked it 'interesting'. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Frankly, ego can be our friend or it can be our enemy. It's just how far we want to allow ego to control our thoughts, emotions and actions.

These are great tips, easier to read then do though lol. very thought provoking blog.
