Law Of Attraction: Attract Wealth ~ Tell Your Ego To Shut Up
Our ego likes to think everything out. It does this by using logic. A + B = C. If I do this I will get these results. Logical thinking has its benefits. It can also be limiting.
Logic dictates that we model our lives by observing precedent. We see a successful person and feel that we need to imitate them to attract wealth. So we set up a "success schedule." Maybe we can reach our goals in 5 or 10 years if this person did it in 3 years. More reasoning. More ego.
The Universe doesn't work according to timetables. It doesn't know the future or the past. The Universe lives in the present and rewards in the present based on the value which we have provided.
The Universe works according to principle and not precedent. When you obey the laws of the Universe by thinking and acting in a certain way you will receive the corresponding results. Whether you receive these results this second or 30 years from now is contingent on your obeying of Universal laws.
The Universe does not care about SEO rank or page views. It doesn't view your popularity, or influence, or how pretty your website is. It measures the value which you are providing. This value is the sum total of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. If you are consistently providing value to the Universe then you will be rewarded. Provide wealth, attract wealth.
Realize that you are always feeding something to the Universe. We tend to focus on our actions and forget the thoughts and feelings which we are offering. Don't think about the work which you've accomplished. Think about the thoughts, feelings, and work which you have provided to the Universe.
The Universe pays attention to every thought and feeling which you choose. Are you offering high energy thoughts and feelings? Happiness, joy, enthusiasm? Remember that to the Universe high energy thoughts and feelings can be as important as high energy action.
Have you ever noticed how things always seem to work out for high energy people? Their thoughts and feelings alone cause positive things to happen for them. The Universe is responding to the value which they have added to It. In order to become more aware of what you are thinking and feeling give yourself some quiet time.
Quiet time allows us to view the running dialog of the ego. Our days are filled with reasoning. Most of this reason is limiting. Reason is based on the observation of results. Results are based on precedent. So you are planning your life according to the experiences of others.
Silence this running dialog by performing meditation. Take 15 -30 minutes to sit in a quiet place. Sit with a straight back to ensure that you stay alert. Slow your breathing down and observe your thoughts. This is the ego running on what seems to be auto-pilot. Hundreds of thoughts are going on in your mind; thinking, planning, reasoning, remembering. Many of these thoughts tend to be limiting because they are the product of our ego, which is not our true, unlimited self. The more aware that you are of your thoughts the easier it will be to control your mind. You will be able to shift your attention to what you want to think about with less effort.
In this quiet state dwell on the value which you're adding to the Universe. Remember that value = thoughts, feelings, and actions. No one is more important than the other to the Universe. It appreciates high energy.
It knows that constructive action will be the result of positive thought and feelings. The ego tends to overestimate action in the value equation. We reason that we need to become an entrepreneur to attract wealth, neglecting the fact that the Universe works according to principle. We also think in terms of time. To become a millionaire means to work hard for 15 years for some people.
This is another creation of your ego which is not consistent with the inner-workings of the Universe. If we think about rich images and feel rich then the Universe will deliver wealth to us through whatever channel it sees fit whenever we are ready for it. This wealth may come from an inheritance that you were not aware of until it comes to you. You may win the lottery. It may come from somebody handing it directly to you.
Our ego will try to find every possible way though which it can be delivered but until you can quiet this reasoning your desire will never arrive. You have to let go of how it will come to you for it to ever arrive. This can be challenging but practice quieting your ego and it will become easier to do so. Your job is to add value to the Universe by choosing high energy thoughts, feelings, and actions. The Universe's job is to supply you based on the value which you have provided. Provide wealth, attract wealth. Condition yourself to attract wealth.

My Bubble: The Waiter Who Can See The Future!
Just went for dinner at our usual 'Mamak Stall' ... Restoran Ameer Ehsan. While Ray had his burger for dinner, I decided to order a 'Tosai Chili Bawang Telor'. When our drinks and the 'tosai' came, as usual the waiter handed us a small chit indicating what we had ordered. Without checking it, we tucked into our food.
Having just finished our weekly night run earlier, I was extremely thirsty and ordered my second drink. While waiting for the new cup of iced 'teh halia', I picked up a handful of peanuts from their counter. Take my word, it was just a handful ... how much would it cost? At RM1.00, wouldn't it be abit too exorbitant? Never mind that, when the waiter served my new cup of drink, he added the additional order to the chit. Out of curiosity, I decided to see what he had written.
I was surprised! Initial order was only for 3 items but there were 4 items written before the addition of my new cup of drink at the end. First item was 'Tosai' followed by an unknown item, then one 'teh tarik', one iced 'teh halia' and of course, the last item was my additional iced 'teh halia'. Oh by the way, there's no indication of the peanuts before or after my new cup of iced 'teh halia'.
I called the waiter over to clarify the second 'unknown item' but was flustered by him instead. He coolly claimed the second item was for my handful of peanuts. Huh? How could it be the peanuts when I had only taken them after I ordered my second drink ... like half-an-hour later. I protested but what's the point arguing with a foreign worker who can't fully understand or pretends not to understand English and Bahasa Malaysia.
This is surely a first! A waiter who sees the future! He can list down the peanuts way before I had any inkling about taking it in the first place. Oooooo ... looking to hit the $$$ Jackpot? Should check him out!
My word of advice ... if you ever decide to pop into this 'Mamak Stall' in my neighborhood of Kota Kemuning, please do take the time to check your bill before you pay. It might just be their tactic to charge more by adding unnoticeable amounts here and there.

Just Laughs: A Secretary's Interview
A boss has to interview four girls for a secretary's position. He thought of a question and asked each one of them:
Boss: "A woman normally has two mouths, What's the difference between the two?"
The first one answered: "One can talk but the other can't."
Second answered: "One is vertical and the other is horizontal."
Third answered: "One is hairy, the other isn't."
The last one answered: "One is for my use and the other is for my boss."
Boss: You're hired!

My Bubble: Photography Challenge
"SHOOT, SEND & WIN" ... the first prize is RM6,000. This photography challenge is organized by Gamuda Berhad, a company that's developing the neighborhood where I stay. Could be an easy way to make money huh?
Perhaps ... I just have to engage my Nikon D5000, find that extraordinary shot, shoot it and send it in. Oh yeah, I need to come up with a slogan too. So, what's the problem?
HUGE PROBLEM! After I've taken all the shots that I want to shortlist, I've come to realise that my file sizes are just too small according to their stated requirement. Submission is supposed to be no smaller than 5MB per photo and mine was taken at half the size ... ARGHHHHHH!!!
Now I have to reinvent my photography all over again. I need new inspirational ideas for my photography. I need uniqueness to standout. Much to my chagrin, it's been raining dogs and cats almost every evening this past week. Evenings are best since there's abundance of activities within the community during those hours to find creative shots. Mornings ... ??? Urghhhhhh, time's running out ... deadline 31 March 2010.
I AM CALM ... I AM RELAXED!!!

My Bubble: Thank God They're Alright!
Should I bring along my handphone? Yes ... No ... Yes ... No ... never mind, it's just an hour's jog and I don't want the extra bulk. I'll be back in no time anyway!
Unknowingly, Ray, Nick and Cheryl were frantically looking for me. They had called and called and subsequently, Cheryl even drove to my house to look for me ... but I was not in. That was between 5.15 to 5.30pm and I finally reached home at 5.55pm.
After my warm-down, I went to prepare and cook dinner for tonight. It did not cross my mind to go upstairs and check my handphone for any missed calls or messages. Shortly after I was done cooking, I could hear Ray driving into the porch and was kinda surprised to hear Nick's voice too. Not thinking too much, I'd given that they had reached home at the same time until Ray entered the kitchen and exclaimed;
I was shocked but quickly recovered my composure. Nick's car had skidded and banged into the pavement in Subang Jaya, somewhere near Summit USJ. Two of his friends were with him. The front right portion of the car was badly damaged, the radiator gone and a tow-truck had towed it to the police station. Luckily, Ray who had been on his way home was driving close-by when the accident happened.
Right at this moment, Ray and Nick are still at the police station finalizing the police report in order to claim the insurance for repairs. I hope there should not be any problem for Nick since he's still a probationary driver. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Whatever the damages suffered on the car, the anticipated cost to repair and the inconveniences, I'm so relieved that Nick and his friends are alright. Thank God!
Nick seems alittle shakened from the experience but I know he'll be fine. He's a strong young man and judging from today's incident, he has handled the situation very well. I'm so proud of him!

Law Of Attraction: Are You Prioritizing Your Life Right?
Priorities are powerful forces... assuming you've got them in the right order. And keeping them there requires continual monitoring.
So what are your priorities?
Most of us - myself included - get batted around like a pinball from one activity to the next. Our days are spent finishing up that urgent project at work for which the boss is breathing down our necks... seeing to the needs of our kids... phoning parents to check how they are... dashing to the shops to pick up a last-minute birthday present.
We go to bed exhausted, only to get up tomorrow and do it all over again. Lives spent scuttling from one weekend to the next, firefighting whatever today's most pressing need happens to be.
But what about that life you'd really like to be leading? The one you keep nestled somewhere close to your heart?
We all have one, don't we? That 'if I won the Lottery...' vision of how things would be in a perfect world. Where you'd like to live. How you'd like to spend your time. And with whom. The long-term dream.
Making that vision reality though takes consistent action, and time. Progressive, daily steps. And to do anything on a daily basis means prioritizing.
It's something with which I still struggle. But I'm getting better at doing the things that are most important to me by making them top of my daily to-do list - tackle them first thing, before the day's events catch me up in other activities.
And I'm starting to see it pay off. In fact I'm feeling pretty good, for I've just finished revising the print version of my book on the pros and cons of moving abroad, and sent it off to my publisher.
It's not been easy mind.
As with so many other people around the world, it's been a tough year.
The financial crisis has forced me to scramble for work like never before. And outside of the long work hours are my commitments as a husband and father.
As a result, it's not always easy to find time to do the 'non-urgent' writing I really want, the books and screenplays that one day I hope will be my full-time occupation.
I realized though that unless I made the time, prioritized the writing in my day, it would never get done. And my dreams of being an author would go the same way.
And it's the same in all aspects of life. We all have to find time to pursue our dreams, whatever they are.
If you want to learn the piano it's never going to happen unless you sit at the keyboard on a regular basis - preferably every day - and hammer out the notes.
How are you ever going to get your golf handicap down if you don't stand on the driving range, or get out on the course?
Ditto that vision of the sun-filled expat life, the world of adventures. There may never be a great time to up-sticks and move to a foreign country. There are always other financial pressures, kids about to change schools, new job promotions in the offing. Valid obstacles that keep you from taking action, from grabbing that life you want.
But that's the choice you must make. You have to seize the moment - take the requisite steps, however small, and make progress. Without it, your life will never become what you want it to be.

My Bubble: Taking Lessons ...
It's a whole new ball game ... this thing called RETIREMENT!
When I first decided to fulfill my dream of EARLY RETIREMENT, I've never imagine that it would need any effort to overcome the transition. I want to be laid-back, to enjoy my first 3 months' sabbatical and loving every minute of it but underneath the composed front, anxiety keeps creeping in.
All 3 fears led me to spend the whole day at Steven and Cheryl's shop. At least I can get free motivation from the masters, I thought. They have been through the phase already and whatever advice they could spare would be a great boost. I was not wrong ... feeling slightly better now.
Thanks 'sifus' but I need to take more lessons!

- I want to relax but there's fear of LAZINESS!
- I want to slow down but there's fear of PROCRASTINATION!
- I want to enjoy myself but there's fear of INDULGENCE!

My Bubble: Procrastination!
An English poet, Edward Young said, "Procrastination is the thief of time" and it is so true!
I have been getting too laid-back this past few days and it really doesn't look good at all for me! Laid-back and enjoy life, YES but when signs of procrastination sets in ... RED ALERT! DANGER LEVEL RISING!! Loving and living life, YES but when the snacking begins, again RED ALERT!! FAT LEVEL ON THE RISE!
I've been warned. Now I can empathize with Steven & Cheryl, working from home can have it's downside. So, looks like I'll have to pop-in to their place more frequently beginning tomorrow, if I want to break this peril at home.

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...
My random list of gratitude this week:
1. I've sold my house ... at my price!
2. I completed the final lesson to my 10-part Law of Attraction ~ You Can Do It Too! series.
3. I'd landed an online work ... US$50 for 5 hours' work and I've completed the first hour within the deadline.
4. I've been offered opportunities to quote for several printing projects.

Law Of Attraction: You Can Do It Too! ~ Part 10
Having gone through 9 lessons to undo ourselves from the grasps of our old conditioned self, we should have made some progress to turn our thoughts and emotions into a powerful magnet to attract the positive things of our desire. Right this moment, how’s the progress working on ourselves? Have we made our desired progress with ‘like attract like’?
Review all the past 9 lessons and ensure we put them into practice with diligence. Every now and then, take a good look at our life. Sometimes things may turn out the way we want it and sometimes they don’t. Do not despair but remember, we are the powerful creator of everything that’s happening to us. Simply work harder to understand what the Law of Attraction requires of us before it can work for us! Most importantly, continue believing that the Law of Attraction is already working for us!
Lesson #10: Believe And Celebrate With The World
A belief is a confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof. When we believe passionately about something, it is a conviction that can make a whole lot of difference to our lives. Naturally, all of us want to correct the unfavourable situations in our lives. When we believe wholeheartedly in the Law of Attraction, we will be able to navigate ourselves through the transitions necessary to manifest the changes we so desire.
Researchers have found that people with positive beliefs tend to be a happy and confident lot. Happy people tend to talk more than unhappy people and it will be less small talk and more substance, usually towards something that they believe passionately in. The more they share about it, the deeper is their belief.
Having initiated the necessary steps to correct our lives towards our desired direction is already an indication of our belief with the Law of Attraction. So next, start to reflect on the good that has come out of this belief. Be mindful to focus only on the positive outcomes rather than the other way. A continuous general awareness of these daily successes will affect our overall emotional happiness. The happier we are, the more we’re magnetised to attract more positive changes. This will unconsciously increase our confidence to share our belief with friends and strangers. We will find fulfilment and enjoyment every time we celebrate the happy endings of our transformations with the world, no matter big or small.
A Tip: Get involved in some social, recreational and sporting activities to jump-start your circle of acquaintances and celebrate your happy experiences with the Law of Attraction.

My Bubble: It's Disgusting!!
Hurry, I need to go to the loo! My bladder's full!
Rushed to open the gate, drove my car into the driveway ... rushed to unlock the grill-door, then the front door. Not forgetting, had to lock-up behind me too. That's Malaysian-styled living ... you either lock yourself in or you lock yourself out, all in the name of security.
AIYO-YO, so many obstacles! By now, my bladder's bursting!!
Then, SUDDENLY ...
My stomach churned so loudly, within the dead silence of the house, anyone could have mistaken it for Jurassic Park being aired on TV. I had barely made it one step up the stairs ...
OMG! I'D POO-ED IN MY PANTS!!
Yucks, how disgusting. I could feel it flowing out continuously, filling up my underwear. There's just no way to hold it in at all. Darn, that's a nice not-so-new panty down into the bin!
It's been a few days now since I've been suffering from frequent bowel movements, my stomach churning right now too as I type. I had to visit the loo several times in the day. In fact, I woke up at 4am this morning just to answer this unusually frequent call of nature. I had thought that it could be due to my resumed intake of the apple cider recently.
However, on second thought, it could also have been due to the 'Hainan Noodles' I ate yesterday night. It's just so likely since there were loads of fresh garnishings over the noodles which could have been exposed to dust and uninvited guests. Hubby also complained of a slight diarrhoea (well, he'd helped himself to some of my noodles). Kinda funny though ... Nick hasn't complained of any discomfort today. He had some of it too.
Should have stucked to my earlier choice of 'Kuifa Fried Noodles', at least the whole dish comes steamy hot!
Regrets regrets regrets ...
Sigh ... what a mess. Should I be considering the diapers just in case? Have you ever suffered such a close-call?

My Nikon: Life In Miniature
A miniature ecosystem existing in our midst totally unnoticed. A tiny Syrphidae, an important pollinator of flowering plants performing its task the way nature has intended it to be.
Our world is so humongous in comparison but do we also exist as miniatures totally unnoticed or we are doing great things to be recognised or remembered?
