My Poem: Stepping Out!

This is my poem in appreciation of the thrill of freedom as I set foot wondering another land. People travel for many personal reasons but I travel to find new experiences that will challenge myself to find me.

Just Laughs: Whale Of A Tale

Willie the Whale and his whale girlfriend, Monica, are swimming happily through the ocean when they come upon a boat. On seeing the boat, Willie says, "Hey, I've got a great idea! Let's swim up under that boat and blow out really hard through our blowholes!"

Monica says, "Oh, I don't know..."

"Come on, it'll be fun, come on, just this once!", says Willie.

Monica agrees and they swim up under the boat and blow out, capsizing the boat and sending hapless sailors into the briny blue.

As they are swimming away, Willie says, "Wow, that was fun, wasn't it? Hey! I've got another idea! Let's swim back there and eat all the sailors!"

To which Monica, exasperated, replies, "Look, I agreed to the blow job but I'm not swallowing any seamen!"

My Bubble: Our Campervan Adventure Begins!

It's the fourth day of our holiday and we are about to leave the North Shore area. We have checked out from The Spencer on Byron where we have stayed for the past 2 nights.

We have also just taken delivery of our campervan from the New Zealand Frontiers Motorhome & Campervan Rental. The 2-Berth Ford Transit Deluxe campervan will be our home away from home for the next 10 days and was delivered to us personally by Mr. Kenrick Mitchell whom lo kong had been in contact with throughout our reservation. He seemed very meticulous and offers a very personalised service as he went through thoroughly over everything we need to know about the campervan. He also gave us some useful advice and tips to make the most of our adventure.

"Our Home Away From Home"
At a total of NZ$1,705.00, the 2-Berth Ford Transit Deluxe campervan is sufficiently spacious for the two of us. Looks almost exactly like in the website. It is presented with all the equipment required for a comfortable travel with an air-conditioned living area that includes complete kitchen facilities with stove, refrigerator and microwave oven, pressurized hot and cold water and not forgetting, a shower and toilet plus a double-bed. Powered by a 2.4 litre intercooled turbo diesel engine and equipped with a GPS navigation system, we are certainly looking forward to an enjoyable journey around the North Island.

Random Bubbles ...

O God,
You are the preserver of men, and the keeper of our lives.
We commit ourselves to Your perfect care on the journey that awaits us.
We pray for a safe and auspicious journey.
Give Your angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways.
Let no evil befall us, nor any harm come to our dwelling that we leave behind.
Although we are uncertain of what the days may bring,
may we be prepared for any event or delay, and greet such with patience
and understanding.
Bless us O Lord, that we may complete our journey safely and successfully under
Your ever watchful care.

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

Hey I am in New Zealand ... in the City of Sails, Auckland.

Lo Kong and I have been here since yesterday morning and we spent the night at the All Seasons Auckland. We've just checked out and heading to the Byron on Spencer Hotel in North Shore. I've booked for a 2 nights' stay there as Lo Kong will running in the local full marathon held tomorrow morning.

I am grateful for the sumptuous lunch we had at the Plaza Premium Lounge in KLIA followed by a comfortable 10-hour flight on Jetstar Airways to get here. Upon arrival, we took a 45-minutes ride on the Airbus Express from the airport to the city which cost NZ$16 per person one way. I am grateful that we managed to get a NZ$1 off the fare each with the discount coupons we had pre-printed from their website and the bus stopped just a short walking distance from our hotel.

Our sightseeing practically started the moment we boarded the bus as it meandered its routes into the city. Auckland is such a beautiful city and it's the biggest Polynesian city in the world. We have explored the city yesterday and I will update more later on my return.

A Note Of Awareness #8

The law of attraction requires energy and polarity to manifest your desires! Polarity is directional … either inward or outward.

Your thought energy flows either inward or outward. If it is stationary, it flows in neither direction and lacks the energy to carry your intention in either directions. If you need healing from an illness or for your spiritual wellbeing, focus your polarity inward to gain a receptive state to receive from the Universe. If you desire material things, then focus your polarity outward to become engaged in an action of giving to the Universe.

Understanding this concept is vital in putting the law of attraction to work for you towards the deliberate creation of what you desire in your life!

Just Laughs: 3 Kinds Of Bra ...

A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's, one of the largest department store chains. He shyly walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my wife."

"What type of bra?" asked the saleslady.

"Type?" inquires the man, "There is more than one type?"

"Look around," said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size color and material.  "Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only three types of bras," replied the saleslady.

Confused, the man asked what were the types and the saleslady replied,  "The Catholic type, the, Salvation Army type, and the Baptist type. Which one do you need?"

Still confused the man asked, "What is the difference between them?"

The saleslady responded, "It is all really quite simple. The Catholic type supports the masses, the Salvation Army type lifts up the fallen, and the Baptist type makes mountains out of mole hills."

My Bubble: Ready ... Get Set ... Go!!!

Everything's ready to go! 2 more days and we will be flying into the City of Sails ... Auckland!

New Zealand had always been my toppest dream destination although it had not been on lo kong's travel list. Anyhow, after having travel to several other countries ... Australia, China, HongKong, Macau, Thailand and Indonesia ... my dream is finally 99% materialising! I just need to plant my feet firmly on their soil and my dream will come true 100%!

New Zealand is a small, remote and thinly populated country but it offers outlandish scenery, superb food and wine, their indigenous Maouri culture and magical outdoor experiences. It is the real-life Middle-earth of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Our adventure plan is finalised ... 3 nights soaking up Auckland City, campervan adventure for the next 10 days and it's back to reality for departure home when we rest our heads at the most expensive accommodation throughout our holiday (airport hotel) ... I guess we've unconsciously saved the best comfort for last.

Anyway, this is only the beginning of our love affair with Aotearoa as we will only manage to travel about 60% of the North Island and we have yet to touch-down on its South Island. We will definitely be returning at any available opportunities to take in the whole land!

Law Of Attraction: Have LOA Will Travel ...

Do you dream of travelling to a faraway place? Of course you do! Everyone dreams of some exotic tropical island holiday, skiing on snow-capped mountains, trekking down some unbeaten trails or maybe experience some extreme adventure somewhere.

Unfortunately, you never actually got down to planning any one of it simply because you think they are just too expensive and you can’t afford it. Why accept defeat so easily? You have just as much right to travel the world as anyone else! Do you know you can make it happen? How does this relate to the law of attraction?

Personally, I had refused to entertain the idea of travelling when I was much younger despite my husband’s eagerness to see the world beyond our land. I had always thought of better uses for my savings than to waste it on travelling where upon our return the experience only remain as visions in my mind. However deep down inside, I harbor a desire to travel to the country of my dream, New Zealand. We traveled frequently within our country and after relenting to our first travel abroad in 2002 to Australia my desire to visit New Zealand grew stronger although it didn’t rank at the top my husband travel list.

Since then, I had been dreaming, planning and visualizing our travels abroad and so far, we have been to several places in Thailand, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong and Macau. The best news is we will be heading to the Land of the Kiwis in 2 days’ time!
Behind this marvelous opportunity to travel to the country of my dream is the law of attraction. According to this universal law, you create your own reality. What you put our focus, thoughts and emotions on will turn into things. This is deliberate creation that’s a unique power every one of us is born with. Therefore, you too can manifest your travel dreams.

According to the law of attraction, you only need to master 3 simple steps to achieve your dream;

Step 1 – Identify your desires and ask:

When you ask knowing what you truly want, you are vibrating an emotion with your thought energy and the Universe will match it by giving the same in return. The stronger is your emotion, the faster the attraction. So when you ask, feel strongly and positively about whatever you want.

Step 2 – Raise your vibration by believing:

Just believe it when you tell yourself “what you ask is already given.” The moment you are clear about what you want, the process of deliberate creation has already started and in the process of being delivered to you. Do not be bothered on the how and when but simply focus on the end result.

Step 3 – Allow it by getting past your doubts:

Once you have put forward your request to the Universe and believe that it is already on its way, you need to be ready to receive. Allow yourself to receive the returns from the Universe by putting yourself into auto-pilot mode. Be excited and be grateful just like a little child receiving a Christmas present and you strengthen the vibration of your emotions.

Before you actually proceed to consciously apply the law of attraction observing the 3 steps, it is as important to rein in your emotions. Learn to take charge of it so that climbing back to your feel good level will always be easy. With practice, the deliberate creation through the law of attraction becomes a second nature.

Even before my dream travel to New Zealand takes off, my plans for our desired travel to Europe is already progressing along. The air tickets are purchased and our next stop will be Paris!

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

A week passed and another week draws to make my travel countdown getting nearer by the day. As at today, it is exactly 5 days to departure. The excitement continues to build up but there's also a nagging worry that the current wintery shower due to the polar outbreak may persist even after we arrive.

Anyhow, we are good to go irrespective it's snow rain or shine. Plans are made to be changed.  I am simply grateful that I will be travelling to my dream destination soon. Maybe we may not get to enjoy a caravan adventure styled holiday, I am grateful for the safer alternatives available which will be no less of an adventure. The weather is not going to dampened our holiday.

The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.”

A Note Of Awareness #7

The law of attraction says you are energy … everything around you is a form of energy!

Energy is the workhorse of creation. It fuels the work of the entire Universe from the simple daily activities such as walking, talking, eating to the more slightly complex creation of your thoughts and charging your emotions. Your thoughts attract things!
Creative thoughts produces psychic energy ! When energized , your thoughts set up the attraction. You can use the power of creative and positive thoughts to attract the things and situations you desire!

Just Laughs: A Perfect Life!

An old man is sitting on a park bench crying his eyes out. A young jogger comes by and asks him what is the matter.

The old man says, "I'm a multimillionare, I have a great big house, the fastest car in the world and I just married a beautiful blonde bombshell who satisfies me every night in bed whether I like it or not." [*sobbing*]

The young jogger says, "Man, you have everything I have ever dreamed for in my life. What could be so wrong in your life that you are sitting here in the park crying?"

The old man whaled, "I can't remember where I live!"

Law Of Attraction: Changes To Keep Us Energized!

Whenever we go on a holiday, we always look forward to ignite our senses capturing the differing sounds, smells and sights of the newfound place. Every little discovery triggers an excitement that energized our senses, moods and thoughts. We are happy and energetic. But regretfully, when returning to the monotony of our daily life, many of us conveniently forget to tune-in to our surroundings. What does this have to do with the law of attraction?

According to the law of attraction, our thoughts and feeling are easily influenced by the state of our surroundings. What we see, smell and hear can either disturb our energy or produce a similar form positive energy when we are on a holiday. Without realizing how our surrounding is affecting us, how could we possibly change it to remain happy and energetic? Let’s take a moment and look around us. Do you like what you see? Do you like how the sound and smell are affecting you?

The likes and dislikes distinguished by our mind will create ripples that can either balance or disrupts our energy force. What we like excites us strengthens our energy while what we dislike sends negative ripples that throw our energy off-balanced. As the law of attraction states that ‘like attracts like’, the more we dislike our surrounding the more of the same we’ll attract. To remove ourselves from such a disadvantage, it is important that we take some simple steps to energize our surrounding in order to energize ourselves.

Awareness: This is the top most important step to begin with. Most of us have an unconscious habit of allowing negative situations to overwhelm us. We need to consciously recognize and remove this habit that allows frustrations to weaken our positive energies. With practise, it will unblock our positive energies to attract more of the same.

Order: Our energy flows freely when there is order in our surrounding. Orderliness creates peace, motivation and pleasure. With this in mind, good housekeeping should start where we first open our eyes in the morning. Bad time-keeping can send our energy scattering but punctuality commands order that provides for a positive mindset.

Affirmations: Words has power. Be conscious of the words we choose to say in order to maintain a positive outlook. What we say can affect the people around us as much as it can draw the undesired energies in return. Keep a purposeful positive intent to live by each day.

Colors and Light: Colors and light provide life to almost everything around us. They create the setting and ambience in our daily life. Let’s allow colors and light to rejuvenate and maintain our positive outlook through our clothes, the color and lighting in our spaces, the blooms in our garden or even the color of the fonts we use for our work.

Sounds: Every different sound can affect us by altering our thinking and perception. Some triggers anxiety while some have a calming effect on our moods. Pick the right kind of sound to add the perfect ambience in our life or make an effort to remove ourselves from situations where the invading sounds are corrupting our thoughts and emotions.

Scents: The scents coming from our surrounding affects us subliminally. It can distort our mind into disgust and anger or it can create a euphoric state that frees our positive energies. Add desired fragrances into our environment or be conscious to control the effect of smells on our mind where we are unable to remove ourselves.
Keeping ourselves energized is important in order to stay positive and focus on the right thoughts and emotions that draw more of the same into our life. It is a balancing act to plug any leaks that may weaken our positive energies. Being conscious about the pros and cons of our surroundings is part of the deliberate creation to make the law of attraction work in our favor.

My Bubble: The Strength Of A Friend Inspires Me!

I visited a long-time friend yesterday. She had just undergone a surgery to remove 3 lumps in her left breast ... it was confirmed that she had breast cancer. It was shocking when I first received the news a few days' earlier through another old friend.

I wanted to visit her earlier but thought I'd hold back a few days so that she could settle in back home. She had just been discharged that day. Moreover I was also kind of in a little bind and the few days could do me good to help braced myself. I guess indirectly I had to come to terms with the news too. It is the dreaded C and it is actually hitting very close to home, considering we have known each other for a decade.

I wasn't sure how I should react or carry my conversation when with her. What is practical to observe ... how sensitive would be the situation ... it all worked aimlessly in head for a day before I could bring myself to call her. When she picked up my call, she truly surprised me! There was no indication of anything amiss. She was in fact as cheerie if not more than she's normally been. I don't wish to sound selfish but it gave me the confidence that everything will be alright when I visit her soon.

Another friend and I chatted with her for about an hour or so. She has come to term with the affliction and her outlook seemed very positive. In fact, she even joke and offered us some important health advice too. As long as I've known her, she had always been a strong and rational character. She is currently waiting for the pathology report and most likely would be requiring chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I am glad she is handling everything very well and so does her husband and family.

I am grateful that everything is progressing well for her and I pray that she will recover from this whole ordeal stronger and better. Her strength in facing her predicament certainly inspires me.

A Prayer for Calm
by Horatius Bonar [1808-1889], a Scottish churchman and poet

Calm me, my God, and keep me calm,
While these hot breezes blow;
Be like the night-dew’s cooling balm
Upon earth’s fevered brow.

Calm me, my God, and keep me calm,
Soft resting on Thy breast;
Sooth me with holy hymn and psalm,
And bid my spirit rest.

Calm me, my God, and keep me calm;
Let Thine outstretchèd wing
Be like the shade of Elim’s palm
Beside her desert spring.

Yes, keep me calm, though loud and rude
The sounds my ear that greet,
Calm in the closet’s solitude,
Calm in the bustling street;

Calm in the hour of buoyant health,
Calm in my hour of pain;
Calm in my poverty or wealth
Calm in my loss or gain;

Calm in the sufferance of wrong,
Like Him Who bore my shame,
Calm ’mid the threatening, taunting throng
Who hate Thy holy Name;

Calm as the ray of sun or star
Which storms assail in vain;
Moving unruffled through earth’s war,
The eternal calm to gain.

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

A week passed with frightening speed! Everyone I know has somehow something to comment about how quickly the day turns to night and the days rolling speedily into weeks. I am sometimes confused by mixed up memories where experience from weeks passed felt like they had happened only yesterday.

Anyhow, I am grateful for a peaceful week though I had been a little challenged by the flu bug. I am grateful for the growing tolerance in me towards anything or anyone who by reasons unknown to me, feels compelled to rock my boat. Peace I give to them!

Finally, I am also thankful that Nick has happily completed the first week of his internship as I continue to look forward to hearing more of his new working experience each day.

Thank you Lord, for I am blessed!

My Bubble: The Excitement Building Up!

Kiwi fruit in the Land of the KiwisThe excitement is building by the day. In exactly 2 weeks' time, lo kong and myself will be flying to the Land of the Kiwis. It'll be a 2 weeks' holiday but only on the North Island. We'll keep the South Island for another trip. It's been more than a year since we traveled just the two of us. Regretfully, Nick will not be joining us as he's currently undergoing his internship.

As usual, it'll be a free and easy travel for lo kong and myself. We prefer travelling this way as it gives us the freedom to design our own itineraries. The first and only time we had ever follow a tour group, we felt so short-changed. We have vowed never to follow any tour-packaged holidays!

We have booked our return air-tickets and the accommodations for the first three days upon arrival. Boy, 4-star accommodation at the price of a 5-star accommodation in Kuala Lumpur! Anyway, the rest of our stay will be a check-in check-out adventure as we self-drive around the island. We'll take our time visiting the must-see popular attractions and discovering the must-try food specialty while adjusting and rescheduling our itineraries enroute. We have not decided on any specific driving routes yet and hopefully a visit to the Matta Fair this weekend might just give us some great ideas.

First stop in Auckland where lo kong has registered for a full marathon in the first ever Jerry Clayton BMW North Shore Marathon held at The Strand in Takapuna, North Shore. Thankfully my hand will be fully-recovered by then to take his running shots.

We will be enjoying a few days sight-seeing in the city before travelling south to other popular attractions such as the geysers in Rotorua, the glow-worms in Waitomo, the LOTR Hobbits Village near Matamata and Hawke's Bay's finest wineries where lo kong has also registered to participate in the Hawke's Bay Half-Marathon.

Stay tuned for more of our travel adventure and pictures when we return.

A Note Of Awareness #6

The law of attraction requires practise! You’ll have to train your mind before you witness the transformation.
It is important to understand how your mind works and turn it into your tool to deliberately use the law of attraction to your advantage. Calm your restless thoughts that jump around in quick response to words, sights or any other internal and external stimuli. Train your mind to stay focus on the object or circumstances you desire.

With a calmed mind, you will be able to wrap your thoughts around your desire and combine the feeling of expectant to draw it to you.

My Bubble: I Think I've Been Hit By Racism!

I had almost wanted to write this post yesterday but thankfully with rationality, I'd realised it's best to keep till my thoughts have calmed. Yes, comparatively my thoughts and emotions have calmed since yesterday's incident but having to use the word 'racism' does make me want to boil again.

It was just a usual day out to the shops for some groceries and food. But because Nick had ran out passport-size photographs and needs one urgently, like any dutiful mother I thought I'd just popped into the photo-print shop to get some reprint.

Unassumingly I walked into the empty shop, stood at the counter as one of the shop assistant stood up and looked at me (*with a long face*) while the other busily chats over her mobile. I thought she would attend to me immediately but instead she just took her time coming over to the counter. Even when she had reached the counter, she proceeded to attend to other stuff ignoring my request for a reprint. Her coldness and silence is like a deafening instruction for me to bring my business elsewhere.

I don't know why I persisted and remained so patient despite her prolonged incommunicado. Anyhow I only started to feel the boil after a Malay coupled walked up to the counter. Immediately she called out to her assistant to attend to them and even directed her to where the couple's photos were kept. The couple paid and were out of the shop even before she accepted my CD. By then, I've already spent almost 10 minutes standing in-front of her. Gosh, I can't help but felt being hit hard by racism.

The reprint came to only RM11 and I paid with a RM50 note. She requested for small change which I politely told I have not. She insisted again almost to a rebuke for smaller change. I told her I will pay her when I return to pick up the photos that will be ready in 15 minutes' time. What stupidity!!! She insisted on keeping my RM50 and request I pay the RM11 when I return later. At that point, I was close to boiling over but I kept my cool.

Sternly, I told her to give me back the note so that I can go and buy other stuff to break it into smaller change. Reluctantly she gave back and shot at me to pay when I return later. Honestly, I hope I've done enough to piss her off by saying "It's only RM11, I won't be running away with it!" Imagine if this is her behavior during Ramadan, I don't think I want to cross path with her during the other months of the year.

When I returned to collect the photos, again she purposely took a slow 5 minutes to attend to other stuff before accepting my payment which I had left right in-front of her face. Mind you, during my whole experience, there were no other customers except that Malay couple that came and left quickly.

On hindsight, why did I even bother to give her the pleasure of my business? I should have just walk off and take my business elsewhere. I don't think there's any other photo-print in my neighborhood but I wouldn't have mind to drive all the way to Subang Jaya. At least, my business would have been welcomed and there's no RACISM!!!

Anyway, despite it all I am thankful I was able to endure with as much patience I can muster and I pray that she'll see the images of her own ugliness someday.

Law Of Attraction: Train Your Focus With Affirmations

In life there’s always an opposite for everything. In the dictionary itself, we can find the antonyms for many different words. Without the help of a dictionary, everyone knows that rich is the opposite of poor, healthy is just the opposite of sick, happy to sad and so on. Each word can affect our thoughts and emotions to be positive or negative, depending on their respective meaning. Undeniably, most of us would rather look forward to the positives like being rich, healthy and happy. Naturally, no one wants to be poor, sick or sad and continually have more of those.

That’s why the choice of words we use daily is very important in order for the law of attraction to respond to us meaningfully. Part of the process of deliberate creation is to rephrase what we say to the positive in order to train our mind to think in the positive. Positive words also provide the critical energy that inspires us to move forward. Do you think you are using the right words and phrases every day?

Before we can take advantage of the law of attraction to improve our life, we must first and foremost identify what we want as well as those that we no longer need in our life. With clarity, we create a vacuum in our mind where we can implant inspired statements to achieve the list of wants we have identified. These inspired statements are what we call positive affirmations. A positive affirmation is a powerful tool that complements the law of attraction. It helps us to develop a positive attitude towards everything that’s happening in our life.

The conscious use of positive words and reciting positive phrases is not something most of us are used to doing. Instead, most people have the tendency to fall back on negative words or statements as an instant reaction to things that do not go as desired. With this in mind, reciting affirmations is something that we have to do as often as possible. It takes a lot of practice. Reciting a positive affirmation will create a state of mind where we are constantly positive. Repeatedly done and once the habit kicks-in, our mind will continue on auto-mode in a positive state. This is when our journey on the road to tremendous long-term change begins.

We all use the law of attraction irrespective whether we are aware or otherwise. It can be applied for anything, in any circumstances at anytime. As it is a universal law, anyone can use it too. It teaches us to focus on the end without worrying about the means of getting there. Using affirmations empower our thoughts to draw our focus towards the end results that we want. Positive affirmation does work because according to the law of attraction, whatever we focus on grows and we become what we think.

Have you got your affirmations in order yet? It is advisable to create positive affirmations that are not too long as they are easier to be remembered. They can go along the lines like “I radiate love” or “I am healthy and happy” or “I have a wonderful partner and we’re happy.” Recite them several times a day, anytime and anywhere, while travelling in a bus or train, waiting in a queue, taking a walk or even possibly while we’re answering the call of nature. Desired results may sometimes appear quickly but in most cases, time and patience will be required. Getting the desired results will depend on several other factors such as our actions, faith and the feelings we invested while reciting our affirmations.

Just Laughs: A Letter Of Recommendation

A letter of recommendation from a Project Leader reads;

"Bob Smith, my assistant programmer, can always be found

hard at work in his cubicle. Bob works independently, without

wasting company time talking to colleagues. Bob never thinks twice about

assisting fellow employees, and he always finishes

given assignments. Often, Bob takes extended

measures to complete his work, sometimes skipping

coffee breaks. Bob is a dedicated individual who has absolutely no

vanity in spite of his high accomplishments and profound

knowledge in his field. I firmly believe that Bob can be

classed as a high-caliber employee, the type which cannot be

dispensed with. Consequently, I duly recommend that Bob

be promoted to executive management, and a proposal will

be executed as soon as possible.

Regards - Project Leader"

Shortly thereafter, the HR department received a further memo from the Project Leader that reads;

"Sorry, but that idiot was reading over my shoulder while I wrote the report sent to you earlier today.  Kindly read only the lines that are boldfaced for my assessment.

Regards - Project Leader"

Random Bubbles ...

Friendship Day is celebrated every year, on the first Sunday of August. This year, it is celebrated today, 7th August.

This day was declared by the US congress in 1935 and the occasion began as a small event, to commemorate the relation shared by friends. The idea of honoring friendship has been appreciated by people in many countries of the world. Over the passed years, the celebrations related to Friendship Day have become even more colorful. The exchange of gifts, flowers, friendship bands and greeting cards has become an important part or rather, a tradition of Friendship Day.

I wish to thank all my friends for their treasured friendships and that we shall continue to grow together under God's blessed light and guidance.  Here's my little prayer for you;

You have blessed us, O God,
with the gift of friendship,
the bonding of persons
in a circle of love.
We thank you for such a blessing:
for friends who love us,
who share our sorrows,
who laugh with us in celebration,
who bear our pain,
who need us as we need them,
who weep as we weep,
who hold us when words fail,
and who give us the freedom
to be ourselves.
Bless our friends with health,
wholeness, life, and love.

My Bubble: Even The Weather Is Worth Rambling!

Some people long for the weather in the tropics! I am sure especially people from the colder parts of the world like North America, Northern Europe, Siberia or even some places Down Under. Judging from the many foreign visitors to my country and my neighboring countries like Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore, they must think that living here in the tropics is blissful with fine weather all year round, pristine beaches and swaying palms like in the travel brochures.

I am born and bred in the tropics ... Malaysia to be precise and I can tell you it isn't always bliss but almost blistering at times. The sunny days can become so sweltering hot sometimes that you'd feel your sweat trickling down your cleavage just walking from your porch to the car or be totally drenched by the time you hang up all the laundry outside. Even a person who can't stand the cold like lo kong complains of the heat too!

It is great to have sunny days all the time but it just takes away the fun when the temperature hits 30 degrees Celsius. It's a challenge just to sit still without the air-conditioning. Very often I had to do the rain dance hoping for a relieve from the heat. But these tropical showers just come and go so quickly, funnily their best timing after you had the car washed!

Well, I can't do much about the weather can I? Only if lo kong can be convinced, we can choose to migrate to a colder country like Canada where my nephew lives or perhaps Switzerland where we know no one. Daydream aside, it would be easier to just fork-out more $$$ for the electricity bill, become a nocturnal animal and still live in the familiar home-ground.

Anyway, I am grateful that my homeland is a country that's free from major natural disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanic disruptions and earthquakes. It makes a safe destination to build a humble abode for anyone who enjoys the sun.

What Am I Grateful For This Week ...

It certainly has been a very slow and unproductive week for me, considering that I am still operating single-handed. Stiffness and prickly pain reminds me that I should not overexert.

On hindsight, it is really a good time to sit back, relax and enjoy the little things in life like watching some regular TV programs and home-movies or having some fun with iPad games but nothing beats the joy of waking up late ... very late in the morning!

I am grateful that I have been given this opportunity to enjoy the leisures of life without the pangs of guilt. I am thankful I have gradually unwind myself from the needs and pressures to accomplish anything that I lay my hands on ... a work hazard from over 20 years in the rat race!

Law Of Attraction: Being The Better Half In A Relationship

Everyone is in a relationship with someone. Every interaction we have with another from someone we just met to those who are very close to us amounts to a relationship. Naturally, everyone wants to build a loving and supportive relationship with their loved ones and friends and more so with that special someone whom they want to spend the rest of their life with. We are talking about creating that perfect romance or marriage.

However, many do overlook the mechanics of maintaining an effective and lasting relationship. It is not about seeking the perfect relationship but providing a supportive interaction in order to develop the successful relationship that you are searching for. The success and failure of any relationships depend basically on how well we relate to one another. If we have an existing problem relating to the other, how can we expect to have that perfect relationship?

Any law of attraction practitioner will tell you that you can attract that sought-after relationship by adopting a deliberate change in yourself. You will first need to have an effective relationship with yourself before you can expect the same from others. Loving yourself creates a positive vibration to attract a match from others.

However, what if you are already in a relationship that is unfortunately far from desired? Can the law of attraction help you change or improve that relationship? Well, it all depends on which you want to change or improve in the relationship. If you are thinking to change the other person in the relationship, then it is better to forget it. The law of attraction cannot help you change another person simply because you are not in control of his or her thoughts and emotions. Manipulating their thoughts and emotions into changing is unlikely to give you a lasting effect either. Therefore, it boils down again to a deliberate creation on yourself to make those changes that can turn your existing relationship around.

Remember this, “When you struggle with your partner, you are struggling with yourself. Every fault you see in them touches a denied weakness in yourself.” ~ Deepak Chopra

The initial step to improving your relationship is to identify and heal the triggering causes that have created the rifts or prevented you from your desired relationship. This is a healing process that will help you to remove any unwanted behavioral pattern that may contribute to the relationship slipping away. It is important to be honest with yourself in order to validate the true emotions you have been having about yourself. According to the law of attraction, your energy flow will improve positively as you come to terms with your true self and continually reduce your focus on your partner’s weaknesses. Rather than expect your partner to change to make you happy, you will realized that it is so much easier to make yourself happy by making the needed changes.

Based on the law of attraction, you are a magnet that can attract and repel others. When the level of goodwill rises in you, it can create a spiraling effect on others. When you have cultivated your own happiness, you will be in the best position to attract the people, situation and opportunities that will create more reasons for you to be happy.

My Bubble: Internship ... A Step Closer!

There's an excitement in the air! It marks some sort of progress. It's a milestone and it is certainly a step closer to the goal!

My son, Nick will be starting his mandatory 4-credit internship this coming Monday at a leading supplier and distributor of the world's best royalty free digital stock photography. The internship is pretty much related to his field of study and he will be paid RM500 per month. His work hours interestingly starts from 9.30am to 6.30pm ... why wasn't this kind of workhours ever available during my time? On top of that, dress code is smart casual ... oh how comfortable!

He had actually gone for an earlier interview at a large communications solution provider and the offer remains open to him anytime he chooses to join them. However, he is more inclined towards the second placement as he will be exposed to areas that are more related to his interest.

Although it is a mere 3-month stint at that organisation, it will definitely be a valuable opportunity for him to gather some real working experience and put those academic theories he studied in college to good use.

All the best my son!!!

Just Laughs: Who's Birthday Is It?

A mother took her three-year-old daughter to church for the first time. The church lights were lowered, and then the choir came down the aisle, carrying lighted candles.

All was quiet until the little one started to sing in a loud voice, "Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you..."
